I do hope some of the venues and judges, require players to play in all previous 4 to play in the final one and say you can only use heralds if you got them from thier venue...
we have seen in the past when you change the event of this type to go against what at this point Wizkids rules have, that you do not benefit in the rewards after the fact...
so a judge in a venue with these "hosue rules" (which you cannot post on the Wizkids site, due to the description being locked, so in no way can any out of town player know about it ahead of time) might not get the speical judge LE's of the heralds, the venue might not get their reward package as well....
so please go ahead and show your true colors of greed on this
not every player will be able to play every week, there is this little thing called life, people work, emergencys happen, people have vactions they cannot revise, etc, etc, etc......
I intend to compete in the Coming of Galactus events however i can't actually afford to play for all of the 5 weeks, i can play 2 maybe 3 out of the 5, and to be honest if i could afford to play all 5 i would still be very hesitant because i'm prodominately a DC fan and not too keen on spending roughly £100 on figs i have no intention of playing with again, however i would really like to win Galactus so i'm going solely for that and to experience tournament play, but i'd like to win one of the weeks i do play before the final just so i have a place saved and therefore i will feel like i earned my right to play in the final rather than just skipping the other 4 weeks and going straight to playing for Galactus
For my venue, I'm really wondering what kind of turn out will happen for the last event. I'm expecting either hardly anyone or almost everyone.
There are two venues in town.... it's more of a laid back environment (more of friendly play) at my venue, and there are more competitive players at the other venue.
I'm not sure how many players might come to my venue for the "lower competition", or how many will crowd into the other and WANT the competition for it. LOL!!
-Heroclix is not a game of logic, it's a game of strategy .... after all, when's the last time that you saw a giant (using a stealth ability) that was hiding behind a swingset... and nobody could SEE him????
I think a simple pre-requisite is that you show up with at least one herald on the day of the Big G...not to play...more as proof the final wasn't your ONLY event.

I'll bring all mine then just in case.
If I make you a trade offer, even if you think it's ridiculous, please at least respond with a kind and simple "Thanks but no thanks."
Me personally, I won't be making the 5th week to try to win the Big G. I have no chance, I only play for fun and I actually have never won a game at a tourney
I have already bought a case and have got all the pieces I want(the BIG 3 SR's:Spidey, Hulk and Ares) and all I want to get are the 4 Herads Any more good dubbs I get, I'm trading to my buddies.
I love to play the game, but I'm realistic. There is no need to show up for the 5th week when I have absolutely no chance to win him.
(Sufficiently related to note, as I'm sure this isn't the only instance of it.) Speaking with the guy in charge of the local venue (the store manager, not the envoy) he made the mistake of enthusiastically jumping in up front, while Wizkids was taking its time getting all the details out, and ordered at a level to support both his standard sales and the five weeks of events. It was after that was placed that word came down of the separate product code for the 5-case lots the herald packs were attached to, and he ended up having to order what he'd need for the event all over again as an additional purchase. (I don't know how much he fought it and tried to get them to cancel part of the initial order, but in the end he was stuck.) The result is many, many cases he's hoping he'll be able to eventually sell through.
Same thing happened to me, but I realized that a lot of my players would be holding off on the bulk of their purchases to see what they pull from the CoG events. I just called my rep and told him I wanted to scale back my order, but apply the reduction to the CoG event. It wasn't a big deal and no problem for him to do. He's going to have to do it again for my JLA order.

I'd have thought it would be about that easy, too, but to hear him talk about it it didn't even appear to be an option. It could have simply been something that wasn't caught in time, I don't know.
