Wow that looks realy really good.

Okay, not as nice as the Starro or Galactus events. Floored 50% events look like theyll favour the players who have already bought a lot of the set already. As theyll be able to use the best of the set to make their teams.

Final prize is nice. Would have been cooler if it was some kind of 800 point Colossal figure like the XMen Phoenix was.

I can see both sides to the reaction to this announcement. Unfortunately for me, there's no way I can make 9 weeks in a row. I've got a job that requires me to work some Saturdays. As such, I'm automatically going to have to go to the secondary market for at least some of these.
And the Protected issue is certainly a somewhat bitter pill to swallow.

On the positive side, new wrinkles to prize support is certainly nice, as well as the return of LE's.

But, I'm sure I'll manage somehow.

Proteus better be better than than Morph!

Oh yea, and the event dial is A-MAZING!

OK Ill say it... WHERE ARE THE FIGURES? Cards should be in boxes and LE figures should be for winning. Yeah protected is good but it will still be abused even if it is slightly harded to get. The event dial looks cool but i think it will wind up being a paperweight. And the LEs we do get are junk. Another X, Another Hulk, Cuckoo and Morph. I look forward to these prizes about as much as getting a junk-shot wake up.

The LE's look really great - all very themed LE's. Charles Xavier is obviously going to be a multiple target beast.. Hulk is an original Avenger by the looks of it, Esme?!? If you read Morrison's stuff that's really cool. Also, Proteus - Exiles fans rejoice.
Get out that paypal account people.. or play well.

The Event Dial can't be that cheap to produce. You've got all those sculpts -- and Green Scar at least looks like a complex one -- plus the oversized dial itself.

So you've got a finite budget to produce the remaining prize support for this expansion. Do you...

a) Support fewer events with the expansion?

b) Find a less expensive from of prize support?

Whine all you want about the cardboard, my guess is that offering those prizes allowed WizKids to support at least two events they wouldn't have otherwise. If they'd decided to just not support those weeks at all, I'd wager the complaints would have been far worse.

Oh, and another thing: I'm likely to get more playing time out of the cards than I have from any LE in my collection.

Okay, maybe not my Atom hockey puck.

To me, that makes them *far* better prizes than most of the figures I've gotten. I'd take the cardboard from this set over the entire LE run from Mutant Mayhem, no hesitation.

So... You take 4 figures off the bases you already created for the current expansion. Put them all together on an oversized Sentinel/Sinestro base. And apply a highlighter.

VOILA!!!

Not really that hard at all Rather smart actually. It cheap and looks awesome.
