Too bad about the 30-point minimum. This would have been a great way to activate E DEO Agents' Perplex and deal 2 damage in the process...
On the other hand, you can toss a Cuckoo, activate her PC, and Mind Control the target, which might not be too difficult, especially if you have a Perplexer or two to negate the AV penalty.
I know the general rule of thumb is "replace then modify", but that doesn't seem to apply here.
The action that causes the attack and damage values to be modified resolves before the Blades/Claws/Fangs action even begins. Wouldn't the damage rolled from B/C/F replace the modified damage value?
I know that's how it works for Defend/JSA/Defenders. You can Perplex down Invisible Woman's defense value as much as you want (not beyond the Rule of 3, of course), but characters gaining her Defense value from Defend still get the 18.
Even with all the little hinderances, I feel like something I thought was pretty suck is now kinda cool.

sure enough
so Im thinking then wolvie gets thrown at whoever , then who ever takes two clicks of damage usually getting worse defensive values so then the
-2 to attack isnt so bad in most cases
Yeah...just imagine the character thrown would have no penalty...that'd be broken.
You throw him...target gets damage for the "light object" part...the character that was thrown does then make a close combat attack with no penalty? That would kill most pieces right away...
The way it is, is pretty cool. You get the chance to kill the target, but you also get some penalty for using that double strike on the same turn. The turn after you are still adjacent and can attack normally.
You can always throw some "plasticity guy" to make sure the target stays in close combat. I think that's a really good option there.
It would have been more accurate if the 1 damage the "fastball" takes wasn't unavoidable, though, because then you would probably chuck only characters with "toughness" like Wolverine while someone like Cuckoo would get the damage....but that'S a minor thing for me.

I think it's a really cool power.
A. Colossus can whip objects (Heavy and Light) 10 squares, essentially giving him the option of using range for up to 3 damage.
B. Colossus can whip pieces that get better after taking 1 damage at any time. 10 range is pretty good.. so you're basically getting TK, plus a free 2nd action. Pick a piece with 10-11 attack after the 1 damage and you've still got 8-10 attack. Pick a piece with 3-4 damage value and BCF and you've still got either a second attack with 1-2 damage or 1-6!
A hilarious combo is throwing the High Evolutionary - Colossus throws him, he takes a click, he outwits someone's powers, he can TK them back to Colossus, if only with an 8 attack. All of this happens in the same turn.
Or what about Warskrull? He is stealthed, ties up an enemy, can outwit said enemy, has shape change, has toughness, and can to a 1 damage pulsewave.
Black Panther also occured to me - he can perplex Colossus's attack to 11. When pushed by the attack (the damage takes place after the attack) he drops to 10, but has blades and outwit. Suddenly you have a BCF attack of 8 and outwit, plus a 17 defense toughness guy based with you.
Those are just some examples. But there are plenty of other random, mid dial/second click options.

So my choices with his fellow X-Men are slim. In fact, I can't really think of a tournament legal X-Men I'd throw.
There are a few candidates:
* M&M V Beast - gets Outwit and a higher attack on his second click
* R/E Nocturne - both have great second clicks
* Emma Frost - hey, now I have Invulnerability and CCE!

Yup. Resolve the Fastball Special action (which includes giving a click of damage to the thrown figure) before taking another action, such as making an attack with that figure.

HT/KC only activates when a figures moves adjacent under its own power. It does not stop a Fastball!

I think so, yes. Of course, the errata may say otherwise eventually.

Good idea. Especially if you add in Entangle and Takedown...
However I was surprised not to see a new "regular" Cyclops or Wolverine in this set (AOA Cyclops as an inclusion is pretty funny).. but Seth could always be designing a new one to work with Colossus.
Supernova Wolvie is okay.. imagine Supernova Wolvie on a latter click with auto regen.. smacks you with Exploit weakness, miss or hit, he can regen. Good late game desperation, if colossus still has FBS.
Why am I the only one that has been thinking of ways to use Colossus in the Floor Events?
You're not the only one, just the one of the first to say it out loud.

Should work, yes. Stunning Blow also uses the base damage value, so it should be unaffected too.
(Un)fortunately Nova Blast is retired though - you can't use it in the Floor tournaments.

Carp, I forgot it was retired....but the fun I will have with it in Unretired events will be NUMEROUS!!!

Actually, if I put Armor Piercing on Colossus and then throw Bouncing Boy...it would be like throwing a Spiked Ball.....hmmm..

If you can dodge a wrench you can dodge a bouncing boy!!!!!

There are some disadvantages, but there are ways around them. Have Colossus throw out Icicle, preferrably having him land in a diagonally adjacent square. Then Icicle can use his Copcicles power to barrier around the fig like this
OBO
BTB
OBI
O = open square, B = Barrier, T = Target, I = Icicle.
His attack and damage value won't matter, and the target is both Incapped and a bit trapped. This would be a great strategy on a map with a narrow hallway like the Prison or the Bank.
My H/W link does not reflect the wants for my collection, it is a list of figures that I already have, but still "want" to play.
