It's hard for me to comprehend why all this effort is going into making Colossus' special power functional. It's TK with a few penalties.
Sure you can deal 2 damage to an opposing figure, but how much does it cost you.
-2 damage, -2 attack, and a click for it. You can spend points on outsiders to deal with the -2's, but you're still taking a click, to deal (a potential) 2.
Why not invest some into a couple cheap tk's and more balls to start up an actual pitching machine.
Because it's more fun this way. I LOVE the idea of Colossus chucking his teammates (or H.O.'s) around the board. LOVE IT.

I am still a little hazy on how Outsiders TA would work...
Outsiders
Once at the beginning of your turn as a free action, a member of this team chooses a target friendly or opposing character within 10 squares; the member must have clear line of fire to the target. Until the beginning of your next turn, the target may not be the target of powers or team abilities that modify its combat values. This team ability may not be copied by wild card team abilities.
Wouldnt that mean once you Outsider say Wolverine, he cant be fastballed because it would modify his combat values??

You are looking at an old wording of the TA (the Wizkids gallery is seldom updated...). The current description, from the LoSH PAC, is:
Quote
OUTSIDERS Once at the beginning of your turn as a free action, an Outsiders team member on your force may choose a target friendly or opposing character. The team member must be within 10 squares of the
target and have a clear line of fire to the target. Until the beginning of your next turn, the target’s combat values can’t be modified by powers or team abilities. This team ability can’t be used by wild cards.
As Fastball Special is a power, Outsiders prevents stats from being modified from FBS. You retain your attack and damage values.
Here's a question: Can Colossus FBS a character holding an object?
What about a character transporting another?
Given that he has a special form of TK Option 3, I'd say yes to the "fastball" holding an object. TK is the main way to move characters who have objects held as it is (although not Option 3).
As for one transporting another, that can't happen. A figure can only be carried as part of another figure's action (i.e. a flyer, transporter, or figure with Passenger assign takes an action to move somehow and carries another figure). Colossus cannot take an action to fastball special in the middle of another figure's action.

I figured this was the case, since the transporting character has to "put down" the passenger between moves.
Now as far as balls go what about:
V copperhead, Blades on Click 2, with a 10 attack, 88points
or
Thin Man-Blades on Click 2 with a 9 attack. 63 points
The interesting thing about these two is that they also have plasticity, which guarantees your mark is going anywhere.

Cool! I'm giving my 'Fastball' the Computer for the +1 to hit, nullifying one half of the his or her penalty!
Whew. Math is hard.
Another thing to consider: Colossus throws X-Men. X-Men trade clicks. Get Jean to send a Madrox over to give your Fastball a click back after his attack....
Colossus 158
R Halo 43
R Green Flame 17
E Wolverine (Ult)
And never got to Fastball any of my figures - due mostly to my own poor positioning and tactical errors in placement. I did throw some objects around including a soda machine which nearly one shotted SR Scarlet Witch. Heh. Have a coke, Wanda.

How about Bronze Tiger as a ball? Second click is Flurry, CCE and Willpower, so if he doesn't one shot the target he gets another shot the next turn without pushing and his 17 defense should be pretty good after the target loses some clicks from the FBS. I know there are better figs in the thread, but I don't have any of them.

Remember that Flurry and CCE don't work together. So he can hit for 4 or he can hit for 2 twice.
Here's something to remember about Colossus's Special Power -- he can't use it on an object he's holding. He has to be adjacent to the object, so you can't use TK Option 3 on the object he's holding. Totally changed my attack plan when I realized that mid-game... but I was able to charge over and hit Archangel with a 6 damage attack, which was nice (KO'd him after he got poked in the eye by The Hood). THEN I had gotten rid of the object, and I could throw Shatterstar at Dazzler.
Once at the beginning of your turn you may select one opposing character. That character is now designated as a socs. When an character on your force with the outsider team ability makes a close combat or ranged combat action against the socs modify it's attack and damage +1.
Gotta say, Metamorpho and Karnak are the guys I'm looking at for Fastball action and cheese. In unrestricted, however...yeah, totally going to throw some flurrying bladesness at people. What do you think of these two floor teams?
Colossus throws the Outsidered Karnak, who proceeds with beatdown...then throws Katana! After dealing at least 2 damage this way through reducers [go Armor Piercing!], he movesthrough on his own and seriously clobbers folks. It's melee heavy, but range is sorta good for you...I'm still contemplating BFCs for this squad. Ideas?
Colossus - 158
-Armor Piercing
V Metamorpho - 80
-Armor Piercing
-------------------
258...fill in the blank.
I'm considering Pete Wisdom as some ranged support for this team, and if nothing else will turn to the trusty Blackhawks to provide the suppressing fire. Ideas for how to make this one go?
Arguendo of the Beige Lanterns (Pedantry Corps)
Feb 2015: JL Trinity War has have given us the CSA, playable and together. Twice. ROCK ON!
REClixed: Justice for Dmitri Pushkin (your sacrifice will not be forgotten)! New generic Rocket Red @50-75 points while we're at it? Still no 19DV Defender? (WoS Groot doesn't count)

I think you need taxis on both teams for them to be nearly effective. It's easier to taxi your team up into Fastball range so they can strike the following turn rather than move and: push both to FBS or clear, giving the opponent time to strike you/nerf the plan.
If you can make it work without taxis - more power to you.

If taxing is the issue, using Halo instead of Katana works for team 1, and also gives some fire-support. For team 2, I suppose dropping an Armor Piercing for Wiccan?
