I agree that Drag is fun, I just think generally it's better to use it on a cheap plasticity flier (like Triplicate Girl) and drag the poor target into a swarm of attackers (such as Timber Wolves).
Now if you could reverse it and say Drag someone to Proteus, I think it may work out better that way.
Well, I played him the other night.
He got crushed, but thats my fault.
Devil Dinosaur, Zombie Spidey, and Zombie Iron man beat him up.
I missed my mind control attack(with a preplexed 13!), forgot my prob, and got whupped. I had to run away, then got ranged by a Scarlet Witch with a preplexed 11 range. I was dumb, my opponenets werent.
Ill do better next time.
I know, I know. Most would say don't bother. But I find him oddly amusing. He's a huge chunk of your team at 190 points. But in the recent games I've played, especially on the 2nd round of M&M map, there seems to be a bunching of characters. And the map also lends towards some good positioning such that Proteus can be blocked from LOS from other members(range) of the opposition.
Given all that, I thought of this to start off with...
I know this is a lot, and requires me to get upclose and personal. But between the Plasticity, Shape change, Super senses, feats, early Poison, natural high damage and self perplex a little later, etc... That is a nasty package to get dropped right in your lap.
It would seem that some kind of TK would be key in getting Proteus into position to begin with. For this role, I'm really starting to like R Aleta because of he ability to also throw up a barrier if needed. And with Proteus' PC, she might actually be able to do some damage herself.
That would bring to total up to 280. At that point, you are greatly limited with some other figure to round out the team. I'd LOVE for my old time favorite Vet Vampire Lackey to still be legal. But alas ... Looks we are stuck with POGS or the following E HYDRA Technician who has Energy Shield Deflection, Green Flame, R Shield Trooper, R HIVE Trooper(stealth). I think I like the R HIVE trooper the most since he gives me stealth to block LOS as much as possible and hopefully requires the opposition I am not focusing on at the moment to have to reposition to take shots at Proteus
The team I like the most so far is this
Proteus - 190
Takedown - 6
Entangle - 8
Fortitude - 25
R Aleta - 51
R HIVE Trooper - 15
295 - Which leaves me room for 5 points worth of feats, or go under build and make them come to me(which I hate).
Any suggestions?
how about flashbang on hive trooper. its annoying enough that he is 15 points and always stealthed, but that he can run out and smoke cloud, giving proteus a 19 on his first couple of clicks. or inside info on proteus
