For starters look at Dark Knight Returns. It was a brilliant book. Well written and dark with classic images of Batman's rebirth while staying true with the legacy of his life.
Now look at Dark Knight Strikes Again. It's art jumps all over the place with one dimensional characters. Joker, in Returns, had deep reasoning around him for why he played the role he did. Luthor, in Strikes Again, is a one dimensional bad guy for the sake of being a bad guy. And then there's all the pointless scenes. Did anyone really want to see Superman and Wonder Woman do it for five pages? Five whole pages? With nothing adding to the plot. And then there's Supergirl who, in an attempt to make it seem "edgy," asks Superman about sex. And then Dick Grayson is a morphing, psycho killer for what given reason? Because Batman didn't like him? What the hell is that! The Thanagarians are just thrown in at the last minute as a plot devise. And finally, well actually I could keep going but I've got classes to get to, there's the ending. Green Lantern comes in and saves everyone from nuclear destruction. Yup, this book should've been called "Green Lantern: The Only Real Hero That Matters," because that's the message.
In Returns you see a man without powers overcome amazing odds to be a hero. His only allies are other's without powers, like Ollie and Robin.
In Strikes Again you see a man who relies completely on the powers of others and doesn't do much other then drop his former ward into a volcano.
Heroes Reborn. Onslaught. Chuck Austen. It's all pretty bad.
QFT. Not surprisingly, the series has a Rob Liefeld connection. Pretty much anything he touches is unclean (or ends up being drawn with skinny ankles and lots of pouches). Even though he's not attached to the new X-Force series, I still can't help but think of those stupid bagged first issues of the original series with the different trading cards. (I only bought the version with Cable).
IMO, the new series isn't as good as the potential it showed in the X-Men Messiah Complex crossover. I believe Liefeld has cursed the name "X-Force."
JLA Detroit. While it did increase the power of Aquaman, it weakened the standing of the JL.
New Mutants when they introduced Bird Boy and Gossamyr
X-men with the introduction of Maggot.
The entire run of New Titans
Every relationship is fundamentally a power struggle, and the individual in power is whoever likes the other person less.
-Chuck Klosterman, "Sex, Drugs, and Cocoa Puffs"
The Vertigo Black Orchid Series. In the prior mini, Neil Gaiman created something unique and rife with possibilities: a pacifist super-hero. It was ingenious and could have continued in many possible directions (so much so that I forgave them for getting rid of the original Orchid who was very interesting in Suicide Squad).
Then in the first issue of the new series they have her force her enemies to turn their guns on each other. sigh.
but they just threw too much into one character with him IMO.

In the very very deepest level of Hell, that book would be edited by Joe Quesada and distributed with 13 variant covers.
You don't have to try to imagine carp like that. They made a sequel to Onslaught with Loeb and Leifeld. Sit there and think about that for a second. I'm a big fan of terrible comics. I know crud, and my good friend, Heroes Reborn: Onslaught Two Electric Boogaloo is up there.

I'll see your Maggot and raise you a Stacy X (aka Ripcord).
Most useless X-Man evah! The mutant hooker with a heart (and lame pheromone powers) of gold! Bad girl (with lame pheromone powers) gone good! Does it get anymore cliched? My blood boils thinking about those issues of Uncanny X-Men. It should be no surprise then that Joe Casey was writing the book...

And then of course that lead into Warren sleeping with underaged (or at least much much much younger) Paige Guthrie.
"Can you turn off that TV? I don't want to remember our first kiss with Stacy doing naked jumping jacks in the background."
'Cause THAT'S good writing.
HeroClix needs more Goblin.
Acceptable in such forms as Green, Grey, Demo, Hob, Ultimate, and "Menace."
