I recall the errata entry being put on Charcoal with a sort of sheepish "Yeah, he was supposed to have a stand, but it is easier to errata him to not have flight."
Likewise, that's how I remember the situation with Charcoal. Indeed, I seem to recall Seth telling us that he'd gone to the trouble of calculating Charcoal's cost with and without flight, and that the difference was pretty small.
I will agree with those who say that the rule of thumb has been to use the figure, not the card. It's certainly how I would rule it until/unless I heard otherwise from whoever owns the property.
and whatīs the rebuttal?
the card and the web page says something different from the dial?
if thereīs no errata you must go with the dial we have been told this several times by the rules arbitrator (both I knew said the same)
The rebuttal is that Grodd is entered on the web site as having the Calculator TA. It's not like he's in there under "no TA".
And it's a cheap excuse to say "there's no errata". Wizkids WAS SHUT DOWN BEFORE THIS FIGURE WAS DUE TO BE RELEASED. So it isn't like judges had a chance to ask, "Hey, Grodd doesn't have a TA on the dial, what gives?"
I mean, really, I don't think a just-downsized-GD is going to putting out any last minute errata.
The bottom line is this. It's up to the judge in question. I wouldn't complain if a local judge said that he wasn't. My own personal opinion (and what I ruled at my venue) is that he is.
Of course, for me it's moot... I'd probably only play him with SinCorps teams anyway. And they don't exactly have TAs to copy.

I see... I can also tell you about the times we have been told that this or that fig is wrong on the website.
Ask Harpua if you donīt believe me, he has a wonderfull memory and Iīm sure that he can give you examples of what Iīm saying.

It is not a cheap excuse, is the only answer I can SERIOUSLY give you.
If you prefer I can say that Grodd has hyperspeed and a movement of 25 on his first click, because the web site is wrong, but that would not be a CORRECT answer.
Sometimes we judges have to make a call, and we have to do it using what we have been told.
This is not a situation where we can use two different rulings that contradict each other.
This is a clear situation where the dial does not match the card, and if we donīt have an errata we have to go with the dial, it is very simple.
Iīm not saying that Grodd must or must not have that TA, Iīm giving you the answer BOTH rules arbitrators I know (first Hair10 and then Nberp) has told us several times giving us the answer GD sent.

I can not help you with that.
I can only try to give you the best and most honest answer I can give you.
Of course I could be wrong, but if that is the case I can assure you that I truly believe in what Iīm telling you, Iīm not lying or trying to give you a wrong answer on purpose.

Always itīs up to the judge in question.
I can always say that Flash CAN use phasing and hyperspeed at the same time, because he does that in comics.
But that is not what the rules say.
It would be a house rule.

Maybe, but if you are a judge then you know that players could use him in different teams, so you must be very clear about it.
You should tell your players that YOU will let them use the calculator TA but explaining that if they go to a different venue this could not be the situation.

Which is all well and fine if decisions like this are consistent across the board. Jump ahead a few sets to Origin, and the answer flip flops and becomes:
"Yeah, Blue Beetle was supposed to have a stand, but it is easier to errata him to just have flight.":cross-eye

If you factor in point cost into the equation, that may be a reason for the change - perhaps BB's cost was incorrect if he did not fly?
Or maybe DC said "Blue Beetle needs to fly. End of story." and Wizkids had to obey. After all, the only other figure to be errata'd into a flyer without a flightstand (Black Hand) was also a DC figure...
everyone is slightly right in there own way.
now i am not trying to make everyone happy, but your point to the WK's site about the character having the calculator Team Affil. is only a point of contention if and only if frankie has been fixed on there to show he has only SS. Things like this will show if that arguement holds water.
Not being able to visit the site myself because i am at work, and atm no net at home (stupid apt.) i cannot verify and there for can only go by what the dial says.
A good defense will only last for so long, before you must crush your enemies outright!

Why can't Seth (he did the dial designs for AA right?) or someone who worked at Wizkids till the last minute come on here and confirm it......so annoying to here the back and forth banter.

That might be, but for the sake of simplicity they should stick to a single, consistent plan. Charcoal is the only figure I know who has been double errata'd

This is my question. I mean, I can understand maybe him being embittered and maybe washing his hands of this whole mess and/or not wanting to "work for free" as it may be, but, really, someone who has his ear should just email him and get some finalized replies to the final, burning questions: Grodd TA and the main CPoC quandries [including but not limited to the "multi-base figure being carried" issue and the "squeezing through doors" conundrum.]

Three letters for you: NDA.
That's a possibility at least. Or maybe Seth himself cannot remember how it was supposed to be - dial design was quite some time ago.
