Defenders 8B

Having had enough of Doom's trickery, the Surfer is not yet done with Doom's Doombot. Relishing in not having to hold back in his power anymore against an automaton, the Surfer obliterates the machine.

1) Surfer makes a Running Shot, going into the hindering terrain, on the Doombot. AV 10 on DV 11, needs to not crit miss, rolls a 6. That's enough to KO the Doombot. 1 SA 1 KO to the Surfer.

(Now, gambling with the negatives of Strange missing, vs. Doom hitting, I gamble with Strange hitting.)

Recognizing the spell that Doom is casting, Strange prepares a counter spell. (He rolls a 20 on his spellcraft check, rep to recognition ), summoning not the Flames of Faltine, but now the Mists of Maltor! The mists seep in through Doom's protective shell, and cause his armor to rust and shatter, causing the man inside brutal agony as shrapnel impales him, becoming a human iron maiden!

2) Strange pushes to Psychic Blast Doom. Av 10 on DV 17, needs 7. Rolls 11! That's 3 straight to Doom! 1 SA to Strange.

As Doom flinches, Strange begins a second incantation, preparing any more counter spells for what Doom may attempt to accomplish.

Strange will PC anything that he can see, priority going to sir Doom.

free) "You are strong Strange, stronger even than Doom remembers but you are still a fool for putting all of your trust in magic!" Doom activates a hidden switch and concealed castle defenses blasts Strange with waves of sonic energy, breaking his concentration! Doom outwits Strange's deflection.

1 & 2) "Now BURN for your insolence!" Doom raises his hands and fires twin blasts of energy from his gauntlets at Strange and the Surfer with the faithful Kree providing cover fire. Doom shoots Strange and the Surfer with his damage increased by the Kree's SHIELD TA. 10 atk. vs 15 and 17 (+1 from terrain) def. Needs an 8 for both and a 5 for Strange alone. Roll is: (3,3) for a 6 and a hit on Strange alone (with knockback!). After careful deliberation and a consultation with the Vishanti Dr. Strange decides to risk it and work his magic, using PC. Second roll is: (5,1) for another 6 (without knockback though) and still a hit on the good Doctor. Strange takes 3. 1 SA for Doom and 1 AST for the Kree. No pushing damage to the Kree thanks to Willpower

Despite the terrible distraction and pain of the sonic assault Strange tries his best to twist and turn the weave of reality, but to no avail. While the Surfer easily brushes Doom's attack aside with a wave of his hand, the Sorcerer Supreme is not so lucky. Doom has clearly prepared well and amplified his energy blasts with some counter-magic of his own! Unable to re-direct the blast Strange can only deflect some of the ravaging energy with a last ditch spell but nevertheless he is still scorched badly by Doom's overwhelming attack!

"So, Doom! A practiced spell caster indeed! Powered by rage and desire, it appears you are more powerful than I had imagined! I am most impressed!" Strange called out, finding a moment of intellectual solace as he as he summoned Vapors of Volthoom to squelch the flames that licked at his cloak. "It is clear that more than a mighty offensive is needed to quell you! Surfer! Allow me to assist you!"

With that, the flames that covered strange skittered across the ground, enveloping the Surfer in a flamed armor!

"My word Strange!" The Surfer remarked, "This flame, it increases my speed, my strength....it even works cohesively with the Power Cosmic!" The Surfer exclaimed.

"Yes, my friend. We may not be able to defeat Doom directly, but with our combined might..." Strange started

"....we may defeat him!" The Surfer finished.

1) With that, the Surfer scorches across the room, ending in front of his friend and ally, launching a flaming bolt of Cosmic Power! Surfer RS adjacent to Strange, taking advantage of Strange's new found Enhancement, and Launches a bolt at Doom. AV 10 on DV 16, needs 6. The roll is a 4! Surfer takes a push click.

Even with their combined powers, the two heroes are unable to harm Doom, as he swats the bolt away with a mystically enhanced gauntlet.

Battered and bruised, the two weary heroes prepare for Doom's next salvo.

No pushing damage to Doom thanks to Indomitable

Aided by the magical might of the Sorcerer Supreme, even a weakened Surfer is more than able to defend himself, blocking the Power Cosmic infused shot with a shimmering energy field of his own.

The Kree stands in silent awe of the vast power unfolding around him.

"Surfer! Now!" Strange cried, as Surfer again attempted to use his now flaming Power Cosmic to bring Doom down a few pegs.

1) Surfer attacks Doom with Strange's Enhancemtent. AV 9 on DV 16, and rolls another 5. Man, those 5's are killing me.

With yet another attack deflected, the Surfer and Strange begin to grow wearisome under the might that is Doom. In an effort to defend themselves, Strange summons the Shield of Seraphim to defend them!

1) "Doom is not so easily thwarted Sorcerer!" Doom replies as the smoke clears. "Observe!" Doom flies through the air at incredible speed with the aid of his flight belt, landing behind the two defenders.

free) With his vision unblocked from his new position Doom spreads out his arms and intones a harsh counterspell, dispelling Strange's magical ward. Doom outwits Strange's Barrier sending it crashing down (and stealing away Strange's DEF in the progress)

2) "Fall Sorcerer, for the future of Hala!" The Kree shouts, opening fire on Strange. 9 atk. vs 17 (borrowed from the Surfer) def. Needs an 8. Roll is: (3,3) for a 6 and a miss. 1 DFD to the Surfer as that shot would have hit Strange without him. No pushing damage thanks to Willpower.

Faster than even the energy beam can travel, the Surfer moves to interpose himself between the Kree and his ally, blocking the blast with his board.
