Personally, I think Marvel is of the opinion that they need Ms. Marvel to be a name for them. They've done a decent job of it thus far. There's already enough backlash with Karla taking over the spotlight for a few issues that I really doubt that they'd put someone else in the costume and name for any great length.
They tried that before. Most recently with the Hulk. That didn't last long before it was discovered Marvel can't sell fake Hulk. Tho, Loeb did make the real Hulk seem dumbed-down since Hulk's "World War Hulk" days. Then again, Loeb has been pretty dumbed-down himself.
Now if they'd only kill off theRulk, but only after revealing "him" to be Petunia Grimm in disguise.
Spidey had a very shocking ending, and Waid has proven to be a good addition to the writing on the book.
Totally agree on both counts, however I'd also add it was the most disturbing ending to a comic I've read since Ragdoll's sister got naked in Secret Six.

Just one more thing we could have avoided without BND.

In all fairness, The Hulk's intelligence level has varied significantly over the last 20 - 30 years.
But the changes were always "foretold" in a sense. We knew a change was coming. Not in this case. It was just all of a sudden.
And always with some form of explaination, but again, not this time.

OK, I give up. What happened?
Did Pete walk in on his Aunt as she and Norman Osborn were bumping uglies ? Or
Did Aunt May announce she's pregnant and Doc Ock is the father?
Or
Did Aunt May and Pete do the nasty with each other (these days, with all the brothers and sisters going at each other, it wouldn't surprise me)?
Or
Did Pete receive an invitation to join the DC Universe ?
Or
Did Mephisto ask MJ out on a date?
GoTg was great now that it's back to being part of War Of Kings again but I'm not too keen on the new additions like Jack Flag.
I'd rather see the original 4 come back to the new CotG timeline on the current team since we already have Maj. Victory and Starhawk.
It's gotta happen.
I bet it does during War Of Kings sometime, somehow.
Give me Yondu!
Actually I like the addition of Jack Flag ...to be honest I wasn't to keen on them bringing in Major Victory and Starhawk. I love the old series don't get me wrong...But the fact is this series really shouldn't have characters from the old series.

I can agree with you totally on one thing, and partially on the other.
I like Jack Flag. He went without an appearance for years and when someone finally brought him back, they go stab him in the back. Literally. So, it's great he's getting some coverage.
As for the old characters in the new series... I'll agree, up to a point. I think if it were only going to be a guest appearance it would be fine, but not keeping them in the book as regulars. That's just my opinion.

This was your closest guess. She was actually bumping uglies with J. Jonah Jameson's dad.
Also, lest we blame BND for being the cause, this is the second time we've seen Aunt May up to this sort of thing. Anyone remember Deadpool #0 where she shopped up naked in a hot tub with an also naked Uncle Ben? You're welcome for that mental image by the way.
I get annoyed with Marvel's neverending crossovers these days. Every comic tries to show that their character is a key player in the Civil War. Then, every comic has their character get into Tony Stark's face (with or without fists). Next, every comic has to have a half-dozen new Super-Skrulls (that got boring faster than I would have thought possible). Finally now, every comic has to show their character getting in the way of Norman Osborn's plans.
Despite all that, though, good moments shine through.
This was my favorite line of all the superhero comics I bought this week.

Hank Pym didn't need to even get within 100 miles of Norman Osborn to hit him where it hurt the most - his faux legitimacy.
...now, if we can just get Professor Pyg confirmed.

Glad I don't read Deadpool. Glad I don't read Spidey, either. Next up, Quicksilver, knowing it's Loki pretending to be Wanda, doesn't care and sleeps with her anyways.
If caught, he'll excuse himself by saying he thought this was the Ultimate universe.
Phyla as Martyr (neo-Thanos) is going to hold my interest for a while.
I got GotG today, and after reading it, I failed to see how you're equating Martyr to Thanos. Granted, I'm probably less informed on comic information, but based on what I know of Thanos I didn't see any obvious connections.
Otherwise, got the latest printing of Ultimate Hulk vs. Wolverine (I don't have a copy of the issue yet, which didn't seem a bad idea given I'm trying to get the series), Initiative, X-Force (Messiah War w/Deadpool!) and Marvel Adventures: Fantastic Four (I fear I may have begun to hook myself into another regular pickup. Dang.)
X-Force is largely a pair of fights, one between Cable/X-Force and the nasty guys who showed up at the end of the last issue and one between Cable/X-Force and Stryfe. Deadpool effectively ends the first fight in a darn-near ex mechina move when as things aren't going well he get asked for help rather than continuing to shoot the same guy over and over again ("But what if he's a zombie?!"), then manages to wipe out every other still-living enemy at once through lots and lots of gunfire ("Fine! BUUUULLLEEETTTSSS!!") before going back to shooting the same guy as before. Though on the other hand, it's also pretty funny, so it kind of evens out. Stryfe shows up soon after, and proceeds to beat up on everyone.
Also, Archangel gets called away mentally to learn that Apocalypse isn't quite dead after all.
Fantastic Four was an enjoyable little story of the near run-of-the-mill 'alternate reality' variety where in the end they have to set thing back to the way they were. For the record, it's Terrific Trio, Ben Grimm turns into the Hulk when angry (from saving Jean Summers), Sue is the Human Torch but has Reeds intelligence, Johnny replaces Reed but without the intelligence, and Reed is Human Torch if he had Sue's powers. Black Widow is essentially female Spider-Man without a mask and (basically) her original back story (and Peter Parker is a name dropped as a General). Professor X is instead Victor Von Doom, leading an X-Men team made up of Shadowcat (but with Wolverine Claws), Marvel Girl, Phoenix, and Iron Man with a blue/gold color scheme and Cyclop's visor - plus they have government support which in turn leads to close work with the military and NYPD. Norrin Radd is Sorcerer Supreme (think Silver Surfer wearing Dr. Strange's cape - its actually pretty amusing).
Behind the changes is "The Keeper", some woman in a room somewhere who is suppose to keep a watch on reality and ensure it stays in place (represented by a puzzle), but got bored of it and started messing around with things to entertain herself. As we soon learn that she's powerless on her own, she knocks some of the puzzle pieces on the ground to create Mole Goblin, Victor von Octopus, and some cyborg with a Venom-powered chestplate. Johnny saves the day by fixing the puzzle and restoring everything.
