BuckyCap vs. Tombstone- This was pretty funny. Taking out the serpent squad is one thing, but going toe to toe with a true Captain America villain could get you tossed out the window! Crossbones never looked so good until I read this (he pretty much looked like some dumb jock) and now I eagerly await more from the character
When did Bucky go against Tombstone. And when did Tombstone become a "true" Cap villain ?
I liked in infinity war #4 when everyone was fighting evil doppelgangers of everyone. And they were all feral, slobbering beast versions of superheroes with big claws and really sharp teeth. Only for some reason the evil doppelganger version of Thanos was exactly like Thanos. And the evil Captain America doppelganger had a giant buzz saw shield. I would also vote for this again if there were a "best fold out cover in marvel u" thread.
NEXTWAVE vs Fin Fang Foom. Heck any of the fights in NEXTWAVE.
"When the going gets weird, the weird go pro." - Hunter S. Thompson"
"Victim? Victim? Do you think this letter on my chest stands for AMERICA?" - you have been getting insulted by nextwave.
I agree with the Bucky Barnes Cap vs Crossbones fight. It was really enjoyable and just down and dirty fighting. It proved you don't have to have these super-graceful and agile moves to make a good fight scene.
Ultimates vs. Ultimate Hulk was absolutely awesome. It began with the delightful Hulk quote "HULK WANT FREDDIE PRINZE JUNIOR!" Don't we all wish we could get our hands on that guy, Hulk. Don't we all... Then, It continued with the absolute craziness of Hulk absolutely embarrassing Giant Man, Iron Man surviving a close-call, the Wasp flashing the Hulk, Cap dropping a tank on the Hulk, and Thor making a dynamic entry. It was a wonderful fight scene.
Spidey vs. Firelord was over a pizza right? I think I heard of that one.
One of my favorites. Firelord wants a pizza but the oven isn't warmed up yet. Firelord melts it and asks if thats good enough. Spidey shows up and proceeds to tick him off. Peter then realizes who he's dealing with and tries to find the F.F. and the Avengers. Both are out of town. For a moment he thinks about demasking and hiding out. Then the real Spider-Man kicks in and he leads Firelord all over the city blowing him up in various ways. After igniting a gas station Spidey thinks he killed him. Remorseful he comes back to try and help. Firelord says something arrogant and Spider-Man berserks on him. The line was something like landing hundreds of high impact blows faster than the eye could follow. Then the Avengers show up and stop him from beating an unconscience Firelord to death. The Webslinger then takes off saying something about how Fireloed was out of his league.

Right. Then it continues in the Avengers title, and in the panel where Spidey is taking off, Hercules mentions something about Spidey along the lines of "I didn't know he had it in him". Not those exact words, but close to it. Firelord then attempts to atone for the damage he's done by doing some good deeds whilst under Hercules' watchful eye, including turning his power cosmic onto some barrels of toxic waste. I remember that part of the issue quite well.
Someone should start a "Best Fight for DC" thread, too. Superman VS Captain Marvel was great (especially the one from the JLU cartoon), Mongul VS Arkillo (where Mongul rips out Arkillo's tongue, but lets him live), and Sodam Yat VS Superman Prime immediately come to mind.
Since this is a Marvel thread, I thought Ultimate Wolverine VS Hulk was pretty cool (the part where Hulk tears Wolvie in two, and Wolverine had to claw his way up a mountain to retrieve his legs, hehe), Ult. Cap VS Ult. Hulk in Ultimates 1 (where Cap fights dirty), Thor VS Iron Man (Post Civil War. Man, that arrogant Stark got what he deserved), and back in the day whenever Spiderman fought Venom. Also, I'm not really a Sentry fan (well, I was when he first came out), but I'd like to see him beat the #### out of the Dark Avengers next month. Man, are they screwed...
Two that stand out in my mind and yet to be mentioned...
Tales to Astonish #100 Hulk vs Sub Mariner-watch as a mind controlled Hulk faces the Lord of Atlantis and the two tear Miami apart.Marie Severin proves again and again that she should be hailed as the first lady of comics!!!
Sub Mariner #8 Ben Grimm brawling with Namor.John Bucema was in his dynamic prime when he pencilled this masterpiece.
Put me down for the Iron Man-Sub-Mariner throwdown in the Tales to Astonish-Tales of Suspense crossover from the mid-Sixties, especially the wrap up ish, TtA #82, "The Power of Iron Man", I believe. Power of Iron Man indeed! Just look at the sheer power of the blows exchanged! It's Jack Kirby at his action-packed best! More good fighting in this half-book story than in a year's worth of many modern comics!
