This is one I've been following in trade since they started issuing the trades. It's one of the few, current series I've been able to interest one of my sons in; each new trade is quickly devoured. It's the only thing Kirkman writes that I've liked, but I've enjoyed it a great deal. (Invincible might have had some appeal for me once upon a time, but it's too much like revisiting a melange of Silver/Bronze Age superhero stories Kirkman's obviously a fan of, too. Amazing Wolf-Man failed to catch my attention with the FCBD issue two years back) The publication pace especially in the past year or two has felt glacial, though; does it claim to be monthly in the current indicia?
Volume 10's supposedly set for August, which means I won't see it until early September. (Monthly comics shipments to me at home.) Sometime this summer may be a good time for me to start casually rereading the volumes.
Kirkman's other stuff is just as good as Walking Dead but in a different way. I started reading Kirkman's Invincoble when issue #1 was released but I didn't pick it up after that. I sort of regretted it later but have moved past that as I rather enjoy reading the tpbs. I think with Kirman's stuff you need to read it as a whole story and not issue bits.
Kirkman enjoys writing and it's obvious from his enthusiasm. However I do believe in some instances he has better ideas than follow through. I don't blame him for the Ultimate Xmen run as the characters are not his own. I do blame him for how mediocre Brit is and for Wolfman. I couldn't get into Antman, but loved the short lived MTU. Walking Dead is likely my favorite current book, closely followed by Invincible. For the most part I find his work enjoyable and worth the read-more than I can say for 99% of the comics out there.
This is why there are so many types of ice cream, I suppose.
His Irredeemable Ant Man material I didn't care for, and while he started off his Marvel Team-Up run with promising touches it soon became interminable. Titannus, for one, was not only ludicrously over-played but, frankly, stunk of fan fiction.
Walking Dead rocks. Any book that makes me feel the emotional impact of a sceen and have me hit me about as hard as being kneed to the chest shows that it's a strongly written title. One disclamer though. For the love of GOD if your depressed DO NOT READ THIS BOOK! It's fantastic, but such a downer at times.

I'm a Weight Watchers due so I'm staying away from the ice cream THANX!!!
Kirkman seems to remember that comics are supposed to be fun.I truly appreciate that about him.
Anyone want to fill me on the benny/billy thing? I checked wikipedia but someone decided that there should not be a synopsis on each arc anymore.
Well here's what happens in WD #61 concerning them:
Spoiler (Click in box to read)
Ben kills Billy with a knife, saying that it's ok, since he will come back because Ben didn't hurt Billy's brain. He's locked inside the van while others are discussing what to do with him, one possibility being killing hm, since he apparently doesn't understand what is wrong about murdering someone, and as such would be a danger to everyone. During the night Carl sneaks in and shoots Ben, leaving before being noticed.

Have you guys heard about the TV Series getting made?
Anyone know if Kirkman has commented on this yet?
I've been wondering when this would happen, but I haven't heard any news regarding it. I hope it does happen, I think True blood is showing that shows about Vampires, werewolves, etc can be made and can be good...
