the DCU has always been more mythic and science-fictiony.
Can't entirely agree here. The original Books of Magic limited series is like a world tour of the magic side of the DCU. Highly recommended. It literally bridges the gap between the DCU and Vertigo, which opens up a whole new angle of discussion.
Magic in Marvel is often treated as just another type of energy, not dramatically different than Reed's superscience. And honestly, other than Dr. Strange and Wanda, there's not a lot of magic users running around the Marvel set either. (And the current revival of Dr. Strange has only been around ten years or so.)

There is no equivalent to the TITLE/ROLE "Sorcerer Supreme" in the DC universe. Magic in the DC universe works differently than it does in the Marvel U. For a great illustration of the point, I would suggest taking a look at the JLA/AVENGERS crossover by Busiek & Perez. Although the story, to me, is only slightly above average, I think they did a very good and accurate job of illustrating the important differences between the two universes (magic being but one of those important differences).

Or just Power In each universe in general...Like that wonderful Scene where Darkseid Gets the Infinity Gauntlet.....then just tosses it to the side when he realizes how useless it truly is in his universe

Good point, Troma99. By the way, I've always thought a DC/Troma crossover would be incredible! A Sgt. Kabukiman NYPD and Batman team up is begging to be done.

HA nice I would love a Troma Crossover with any of the Two Big Brands.
I know marvel owned them for a time....but still.even now a days have the MZ4 Crew stop off in Tromaville to pick up Toxy on their quest to destroy the Zombie Scourge

Excellent! Anyone out there from the Big Two listening? PLEEEAASE make it happen.
Zatanna gets all the props in the DCU because she's much easier to find in the phone book (initials ZZ) and she's got a consistent gig. And she's even been seen in stores over the last couple of weeks.
Dr. Fate is much harder to find as he/she/it's always changing names, addresses, status (living/dead/out-of-dimension/time), and even experience. Last seen...?
