You know you can delete your entire sent items right?

I'm pretty sure you know but just checking.

I think part of the problem is that he can't just delete some of his sent items... they need to be kept for a while.

Right; most of the time I don't keep Sent Items for, say, games or chit-chatting but as Quebbs points out there are some things that I very much need to keep (though I do have them backed-up elsewhere but I keep them here for quick reference).
