So no downloads yet. I am researching selling them. Most of the local printing options are cost prohibitive. I have been researching mass printing some maps but were looking at an investment in the $600-$800 range for a hundred or so. So I would need to have some level of committment that 50 or 60 people would be willing to pay $10 a map.

The other thing is that I want to tread carefully with a lot of intectual copyright. I have seen some custom maps made with Dundjinni using downloaded textures without the permission of the original artist and without crediting Dundjinni which is a clear license violation. Another piece is that for some map imagery, I'm using stock photos from photo companies where by paying a $1 for an image (like a log or plant) I gain the right to use the imagery and sell it but potentially not electronically redistribute it.

This did start out as a personal challenge. I really consider myself as unartistic. By day, I deal with insurance law. My degree is in Biochemistry. I've never taken an art class in my life. I am also a habitual home project starter who rarely completes a task. I have dozens of unfinished customs going back to mods started in the IC days.

However if I get enough positive response, I will put up a poll when I have ten or so sellable maps and if there is enough interest in one particularly, I will mass produce it and see how it goes.

The sapce ship map could also be used for Horroclix. Maybe throw some blood spots on there and you have a nice map for busting out the Aliens.

Over the past months, I have recieved scores of private messages and emails from folks asking to buy my maps. I wanted to announce that I am very close to working out a deal with a local printer to print atleast two of these maps in a small run of a few hundred. Once I have maps 11 and 12 finished and posted on this blog, I will be adding a poll where everyone will be able to vote on which two maps will be printed. Currently I am hoping that when everything is said and done I can price these at around $20 for two maps.

I'll have more details in the next few weeks. In the meantime, feel free to give a shout out either here or on my blog to lobby for your favorite map (except for the Martian Balls April Fool's map which for the good of humanity will never be printed.)

Do you mind if we have them printed on our own? I know a site (bestdecal.com) that can print maps on vinyl for a very reasonable price-- $2/sq. ft.

It's something I'm researching. Some of the imagery on the maps I've purchased from stock photography companies. Two examples are the pants on the Mighty Pants map and the eggs on the Mission Abort map. In purchasing those images, I had the rights to use the image and physically print the image for sale but not electronically distribute the image or a derivation of the image. For me to release the Mighty Pants map as a download, I'd either need to hand draw new pants, photo my own pants and recolor them purple, or pay the distribution fee to use the pants already on the map.

I am so excited and hope I can buy them soon. Honestly I think the 2 best maps are the Savage Land one and the Dark Alley one. I will be super bummed if I can't purchase either of those.

I think they are the most balanced maps you've created. A lot of your other maps are very original but sometimes one starting area has a major advantage over the other (WWII, Amazon Island). I'm sure you planned it that way but I wouldn't want those nearly as bad as the two I mentioned. The sperm one is hilarious (and nicely done) but I can't imagine wanting to play a serious clix game on it (or the Dr. Manhattan's nutsack one either).

Just my opinion but all your work is awesome and I am always stoked to see any new map that you post!

If either of those 2 maps I prefer don't end up being part of your print run I will pay extra to have them specifically printed for me.
