What does the statement you replied to have to do with purchasing *THIS* set? He was stating that it would be good to read from them that the reason this set is so mediocre in character selection was because it was half-done and they wanted to get it out quickly. Y'know, to ease concerns about the *NEXT* few sets.

For what it's worth, I'm not convinced that the SK closure is the reason this set's character range is so 'meh'. Certainly Jake's Robin/Damien and Parademons articles imply that this "new twist on REV" was intentional. And the AEs are an entirely new concept that they purposely built into the set. So while we (hopefully) won't have sets with more than a couple duo figs in them going forward, "new REV" and AEs will be sucking slots away from giving us potential new characters.

However, a communication from NECAWK explaining that the reason for so many duplicate sculpts was that only half the intended sculpts for the set were completed before the shutdown, and that this will NOT be the way they'll be designing future sets would make me feel a LOT better about the prospects of the sets for the rest of this year.

So it's not about buying more of this set. It's about consumer confidence in sets going forward. I'm pretty sure most of us have enough information at this point to at least make a "buy/don't buy" decision on B&B.

Frankly I don't expect such a communication. I think the "slot eating mechanics" are intentional, and I think the decision hasn't been made on whether or not to keep them. If "new REV" turns out to be popular, NECAWK would be pretty stupid to go back to spending more money on sculpts when they can fill 1-2 slots with one, wouldn't they?

Then why do they have to say it now?

Well Fire and Ice are checkmate although Ice was dead for basically all of Fire's time with that team and Beetle will be JLI come the new JLI mini

aw shucks....less than 25 never clixed characters s they promised us....huge misleading... oh well, heres hoping that the next set will be better.

I don't think they HAVE to say it now. It might be helpful when folks turn their attention to the next sets though. Say, a couple weeks after B&B. However, I think the longer they wait after set release, the harder it will be to convince themselves to make any statements regarding B&B. The natural inclination for NECAWK after B&B hits the shelves will be to move on to the next set and not look back, unless B&B is a smashing success.
