Having played him in a sealed release event, I REALLY disagree with your assesment of Black Flash. I played him, one each of the Assassins, and the 19 pt Amazon. Ask anyone there. KICKED SO MUCH TRASH. I took out another Black Flash second round on my third turn. Granted I didn't face off against Invuln or Imp, which would have been an issue, but I'd still give him more than 2 shields. Lots of HSS for him to double poison..lots of stay alive potential...high defense, can't be outwitted and the built in Willpower??? Yeah I'll take it!

when i opened the first booster that i bought for this set this was the first fig i saw, i was exicted.I just love the fact that the martian is sitting on a chair of cookies and has a glass of milk in his hand and eating a cookie in the other.

I used Extant to take down a 280 Shazam/Black Adam, give that sexy man some respect!! I mean come on, he is Deadpool in Magneto's cape after all!!

In 300 points sealed, I thought 'mouse was too charatable. I guess the sun shines even on the back of a dog's patootie every now and again, huh?

I'm a HUGE Etrigan fan, and have even quoted the poem back in the day when getting rid of his Activation clicks....
and while i LOVE the two SP's... the Wacky Dial keeps him from being anything except an 'oh #### Jason Blood got hurt' figure. (4 range to highlight a ranged SP? DV's fluctuating up then a 2 point drop right away? no charge on a melee character who's other incarnation had charge? yes, its a wacky dial. get in the box with Hector Hall and the original Dr Strange.)

Good idea is to run Kid Zoom and keep him far away from everyone, and use lots of Charge and Running shot- or for non-sealed, mix him up with people who get HSS later in their dials, long after Thaddeus Thawne is gone- hurts your opponent and doesnt hinder you in the least. Also, Stunning Blow on him in Golden Age format is going to be very beastly.



***Edit to add- Okay, for all the Black Flash lovers- i too love the Black Flash. Hes fantastic. Amazing power set up, excellent anti speed SP that doesnt matter if they have HSS for the extra +2 AV, and theres lots of little toughness and less HSS from other sets. key words- FROM OTHER SETS.
This is a review of a 300 point sealed format for Just BatB. As awesome as Black Flash is, if your not using PX or OW, etc, you will need a Critical Hit to damage anyone with Invul or Imperv. Period. Check the list to see how many figures in this set have either, if not both. Go on, I'll wait here. ^^. Against all those awesome little generic figures, Black Flash is a GOD OF DEATH. And i love him for that. Any other 'Flash' based peice in the game? hes going to do even better. Against a 43 point little girl? Useless. Anyone playing Kid Flash? stopped in his tracks. (funny considering the kid dies...)

Funny enough, if we had the HSS option 2 he would have a slightly better chance. we dont, so he doesnt. As it stands, i almost cried to see the 2 shields. but... its what he deserves in this format. Now in a format where you can toss Armor Piercing on him.. you need not ask for whom the bell tolls...

Spot on the Black Flash.

I used him and he was exactly what I expected - a very expensive harasser.

With 2 Outwits I was able to ping the Martian Manhunter I faced, twice. He poisoned a few chodes and eliminated Outwit threats but that was it.

Granted I missed a number of rolls (2 crit misses) but getting 1-shotted on turn 3 by SR SHAZAM! (Half) was not a proud moment for Death Comes Quickly.

I've tried him so now I can send him into "the box" for good.

Faced:
Manhunter, Amazon, J. Blood, Diana Prince, Pawn 506. Flash hit Manhunter twice, hit Diana and did some poison damage to Blood. Contrast with Mercy who KO'd the Amazon, Pawn 506 and Diana.

Fire & Ice, Holiday, Bana-Mighdall, Cave Carlson, League Elite, Mdm Marie, Knight White, Pawn White. He tied up Fire & Ice stopping them from hitting for 6 (3 + RCE + 1 Enhancement) and KO'd Holiday while poisoning White Knight to KO.

SR SHAZAM! (half), UC Talia, Pawn 502, Parademon Sarge, Parademon Grunt. Needed a 7 and missed on Talia, he was KO'd by SHAZAM! in one shot afterwards. Mercy took out the Sarge and SHAZAM! and was on the verge of a Crit Hit to take out 502 to give me the win when time was called.

You can pretty much guess just about everything single figure was pulled..including Nekron and Martian Manhunter.

First round I thumped a Batman/Inertia/Diana Prince. Second Round was a Black Flash/Jason Blood/Two TA Talia (he bowed out on the third turn after I took out HIS Black Flash that he had apparently done well with first round....somehow he still got Fellowship...so much for me getting a Black Lantern...) third round I was worried about. GL/GA Duo, 2TA Talia and an Amazon of some flavor.

I have NEVER seen Poison do SO MUCH DAMAGE. Ridiculous...

I have fond memories of a Battle Royal where I used V The Demon + Movethrough, and everyone was so afraid of him they'd steer clear. I would charge in with a heavy, and one hit KO someone, then charge upfield (ignoring other figures for movement) and do it all over again. No one wanted to take Mystic damage so they left him alone. Nu-Etrigan can bring some pain, but for the 136 point cost, I'll probably most often pick old Etrigan instead (the one with Enhancement). It is nice though, having two support powers in one slot, and I expect I'll find some use of it.

That said, I love the Jason Blood AE figure, I'll probably use that version of the Demon the most often.

The nice thing about this set - options.

Man, I wish we had that attendance. Congrats on beating the odds, and making a dud into a stud.

When does Etrigan get KO'd if he's not using the AE mechanic with Jason Blood?
