there should be a way for the players' wishes to be represented. i just read all the 'trait' threads, (use vs. posses) and i think this is petty and infuriating. if enough players think a ruling is stupid, we should be able to overturn it. we're buying these heroclix, we're paying the designers' paychecks. if everyone thinks a rule sucks, then pay attention to us.
The players always have control over what rules or rulings are used in the game in which they participate.
If you disagree with an official rule or ruling, change it to your and the other players in your group's liking.
btw, batman and green arrow's trait cannot be outwitted when playing at my house.
Their trait can't be Outwitted anywhere. Traits can't be Outwitted. The Sharpshooter ability that is granted by that trait however can ;-)
Sorry I couldn't resist...
Anyways someone already tagged this with beating a dead horse...
Seriously, it's not a big deal. It's not that hard to understand and it only applies to like 2 figures right now. I think how I'm going to remember is... You can't take away (Outwit) something you don't have (possess). So if you POSSESS the power, it can be OUTWITTED.
On top of that, it only really applies to official big time WK events. If you want to play it differently in your neck of the woods there's nothing stopping you. But it doesn't need to be rehashed over and over and over. We know the official ruling, beyond that do what you want.
They could institute this rule...by all means, they SHOULD! Wouldn't change anything though, because this is the internets, and you can't get anybody to agree on anything on the internets.

this was meant to be a solution, not a rant. *raises hand* yes i'm guilty of beating the dead horse. (kicks it one more time) that's for you, bats & ollie!
For the topic at hand I would like power for the players but we may not always know what's best. There are few who understand how simple changes to a rule effect the game as a whole. I'm certainly not one of them.
Now on those who say GD knows what they are doing.... I wouldn't be real sure of that. I'm sure they are very smart people and have a firm grasp of what they are doing. Though this game has it's fair share of mistakes. I think most of the players guide is a testament to that.
I don't understand where this notion comes from that we have "rights" as players to change the rules of the game. Heroclix is a property owned by Wizkids/NECA, and only they have any legal rights regarding it. Chiefly, the right to do whatever they want with it. If they want to make a set based entirely around duo figures, they can do that. If they want to make figures that form the YMCA when placed next to each other, they can do that. If they want to make a figure of a friendly purple dinosaur and make it more powerful than Superman, by golly, they have the right to do that, too. (As long as they don't violate any copyrights in the process.)
Your rights as a player are to not buy the game if you don't like it, and to not play by the official rules in your own home if you don't want to. Nothing wrong with that. But there is nothing that gives players the "right" to make the company that owns and produces the game change the rules for it.
