maniac’s time machine materializes near the north end of a river ford, with a number of dinosaurs located just to the south. The lava flow, originating from a volcano across the river, seems to be flowing safely away from him.

An ankleosaur wanders near the south end of the ford. maniac leaves the time machine and splashes into the shallow water. Fortunately, he encounters no unexpected dangers.

He gets close to the ankleosaur, but those armored behemoths are hard to hit in a vital spot. When a triceratops also comes close, maniac shifts his attention to it.

He tracks the trike into a patch of jungle. It turns to charge him, but he gets off a last-second shot in the nick of time! Wounded, the triceratops turns aside.

A second shot finishes off the dinosaur. maniac attaches a Hand Retrieval Device to it.

But wait!! The lava flow has turned and is moving towards maniac. He runs for it, staying ahead of the lava. But the lava flows over the triceratops corpse, destroying the trophy.

Meanwhile, off to the west, a T-Rex kills a hadrosaur.

The lava continues to flow. Now there is serious danger of it cutting maniac off from the river ford, thus blocking his way back to the time machine without risking a near-suicidal attempt to swim the deeper part of the river. Fortunately, the unpredictable lava shifts direction again before this happens.

A stegosaurus wanders nearby. maniac kills it with a single shot, then attaches an HRD.


Off to the west, a T-Rex and another stegosaurus do battle. The tyrannosaur is wounded, but the steg is killed.


Meanwhile, maniac nears a hadrosaur and kills it with one shot, attaching his last HRD to it.

The lava has effectively cut him off from timely access to the other dinosaurs. He moves back to the ford, splashing across it again without incident and nearing his time machine.

Across the river, a struthiomimus approaches the river bank. It’s only worth 3 measly points, but no other targets are available. And maniac does have three unused Rifle Retrieval Devices. He tries a long shot, but misses. The struthiomimus runs into a patch of jungle.

maniac enters his time machine and waits patiently for it and his trophies to be teleported back to the future. This happens without incident.

Maniac_nmt brings in two trophies:

Stegosaurus (1 shot)—10 points

Hadrosaur (1 shot)—10 points.

You’re now up to 70 points, with three scenarios to go to get to 150 points. It’s too bad the lava flow cheated you out of 15 points for that triceratops, but these things happen.

Verily, I doth appologize!

I just spent a couple days in the hospital following emergency hernia surgery. I'm afraid there will be a bit of a delay before I get back to the dinosaur hunting.

Loading more robotic friends onto a slaver ship I'd bet.

I hope you're OK. Posting is a good start.
