My biggest issues with this guy are:
1) The one click where he loses Green Willpower seems to be the one where I always get hit to when taking damage after my first action. I know there's a lot of "how I would have done it" that makes stuff way too powerful, but for this guy to be worth his 150 point investment I would have changed Green Willpower to a trait and had it not only heal him for 1 rather than pushing, but also give him a +1 AV while he has an action token on him and maybe +1 DV while he has 2 on him to give more incentive to push him all the time, which would make sense for a paragon of willpower that Hal is supposed to be.
This would free up his movement for other powers and I would give him something like Running Shot for his first click, charge for the next 2, running shot again and then force blast to round out the dial. I feel that this would help him feel more like how Hal fights (does a little bit of range and then closes for a bit of a beat down, then some more range and then keeps them at a distance when things get to hairy).
2) That 9 attack value on his 2nd click needs to be a 10. Why would I ever heal myself from a 10 attack value with Shape Change to go into a 9av with Invlun?
3) No Green Lantern TA. WTF? It's not like he stopped being a member of the Corps during the War of Light story? Why should he not get his TA? Lame...
4) It's another Hal Jordan. The Blackest Night set was supposed to be the "deputy lanterns". I would have loved to have seen a new Green Lantern Ganthet, maybe with the Blue Lantern and Green Lantern Corps keywords.
My biggest complaint is no Willpower and no GL team ability. The example with Living Laser is technically correct. Without Inv it takes 7 dmg to kill GL. 3 Base, 2 RCE, 1 Perplex, and 1 Crit. That is a oneshot kill though it was kind of implied that the rule of 3 was ignored.
@Deepshock: He might not take pushing dmg but he doesn't qualify for the GL object. He has neither WP or Indom. Plus I hear that WP is kind of important to those Green Lantern guys LOL.
Green Lantern - Light, Continual, 3D Object (bab)
Point Value: 5
Characters within 4 squares of this object that can use Indomitable or Willpower modify their defense values by +3 when they are the target of an attack using Incapacitate or Mind Control.
@Gideonan: I know what the object does and I think it's one of the most useless Lanterns, in fact I glued mine in place of the flight stand on my old Ganthet. Looks great. Anyway, in my experiences players rarely ever use Incap or MC. Incap is used far more often than MC, but still rarely in comparison with just dishing out damage The people at my venue just don't use them. Spending 5 extra points towards my build for the insurance against those abilities is not worth it especially when it's in the off-chance that I may encounter them. I'd use it if I just had 5 points to spare or if I just happen to make an anti MC and Incap team, but I'm not going to try to make room for it and if it comes down to using the 75th Hal and Guy, I'm going with a Yellow Lantern instead since Hal has PB and Guy has EW. As for the fig, I'd rather have the healing SP. My Green Lantern object is much happier being Ganthet's pedestal, but I guess it depends on the people you play with, too I guess they could have at least included in his SP that he can use Willpower and word the whole thing differently, but like HigherCalibur said before, this fig and his SP just weren't done right.
This is my favorite Hal. The "healing for pushing" special power is a unique way of showing his Willpower. Everyone would think he should get Indomitable but the special power is even better.
I really love the range on him. All the new lanterns are getting 8 range.
My only complaint is the small sculpt. He looks so tiny.
People who think that this Green Lantern has willpower are mistaken. If you outwit the "Green Willpower" and he pushes he will still take the pushing damage that he would normally would.
A friend of mine was using this figure in a match against me the other day and we got into an argument about when "green willpower" is activated. The issue was that the character was on his first click when a second action token was placed on him, causing him to take pushing damage which turned him to his second click which has the "green willpower" ability. My friend says that green lantern would immediately heal back to his first click after pushing to his second click which has the "green willpower" ability. My argument was that this would not activate the ability because green lantern did not have this ability on the first click which is when he was given a second action token and dealt pushing damage. He then says that he would agree with me if the wording didn't state,"WHENEVER a second action token is placed." I would like to hear some other opinions on this issue.
You're right, your friend is wrong. I have friends who try to make rule loopholes like that all the time. Trust me, he has to start with it before it works.
To be honest, what makes the power trigger only if it's showing when the action is given is that the power says, "INSTEAD of taking pushing damage". Clearly, if you never took pushing damage, you would never have gotten to the next click in the first place, no?
