I like everything except for the defense values, which I wish were a tad higher. Still, it's a good dial and a must-have for me since I love the Dark Avengers.

I don't get it: the function of the web terrain marker is obvious, but what is the cocoon for?

It's just a "web" token.
You place it beside the webbed up figure just as you would a penny, a glass bead, or whatever else you'd be using as a web token if you don't win these.

Oh, & it's easier to carry that around than a version of the other style made big enough to fit peanut bases, 2x2 bases, etc

Impact webbing from Ben Reilly. The stuff would wrap em in a cocoon if I recall correctly. So you can customize your webbing choice based on who you're playing. Though the cocoon is really only accurate with Scarlet Spider.

Speaking of webbing, the things are a bit yellow aren't they? Could use a paint job. I'll bet they'd look awesome in gray and white.

Very cool piece, but I hope they make another one latter with the dark avengers keyword. Otherwise it will be very hard to run that theme team.

It may be comic accurate for Reilly, but (as I point out in the article) it's very appropriate for Spider-Man 022 whose power is actually called "Web Cocoon."

Definitely yellow-ish, so much so that I had to double check that they don't glow in the dark. They don't.

This one does have the Dark Avengers keyword. That is the ONLY reason I could see them making him again after we got one last set. Now if we could just get a Moonstone as Ms.Marvel and an Ares with the keywords...then we could get the full team.

I too like the sculpt. Isn't it exactly like the #022 Spiderman "back n black" costume? I hope that there's some miniscule detail separating the two. They look identical from the photo we've seen. I thought all the LE's were painted differently than their regular set counterparts.

I think I still like the HoT version a lot better. This one will be a nice alternate when playing Dark Avengers keyword but at a mere 3pts difference it cannot hold a candle to HoT Venom.

I'd like that as well, but Moonstone is back to being Moonstone already, Ares is dead, and Sentry is also dead. So for the foreseeable future we'll just have to work with what we have.

If you forgo the keyword, however, you can nab Sentry for prob, Ares for being Ares (still love that dial) and the HoT Moonstone could maybe be repainted into Ms. Marvel. Still a formidable team.

That really bothers me. Webbing isn't the color of pee.

Still, a quick white primer coat and a watered down gray wash can fix that in under ten minutes.
