Agreed. I have to thank hair10 and ibeatdrew for taking the lead this year. Karl and I had talked about this late last year but I have been completely swamped for the past 10 months with work, getting married, getting a house ready to be put on the market and now 4 kids in the house with varying schedules.
There was always interest in getting more than just the Midwest involved in this and I'm extremely happy to see this quirky idea of Frontman's that I "borrowed" years ago has gone coastal!!
Borrowed? If I remember it correctly, I believe in an "Activation Click" column back in the day I just suggested everyone taking just a few of their gaming dollars and setting it aside for Breast Cancer research. You and Karl took that idea and freakin' RAN WITH IT!!!!
Clix for the Cure will be one of those things that I'll always be proud of this community. We made a difference already; and the fact its growing now? Three locations; coast to coast?
Life of its own, guys. Something all of us can take a bit of pride in and know we're going to continue to make a difference!!!
Speaking for myself and The Family Game Store, we are really honored and grateful to be able to participate in this!
Be on notice that the East Coast intends to 1) have the most fun and 2) raise the most money for cancer research!
Competitive? Perhaps!
But for a VERY good cause!
Thanks again to Hair10, IbeatDrew and Typhon!
And of course Ben Meisner for his artistry and generosity!
This is gonna be great!

Awesome! I'll be at the one in Peoria. I was at the events in Bloomington and have been jonesin' for another one. I had the pleasure of clixing along side Hair10, Ibeatdrew, Balloonatic, dariusdax, groovyboy, DeGei, and Ignatzmouse just to name a few.
It's a terrific time to say the least. One of the great aspects of the event is the sense of community. If I remember correctly, a local baker donated "K.O." cookies for sale.(proceeds donated to the cause). One player paid out , like, $150.00 in rerolls to his teammates one year. The Clix for the cure ranks up there as one of the best heroclix events ever.
Thank you to the organizers for making this possible again. I lost my Mom to cancer last Christmas so I'm really looking forward to attending. You guys are awesome.
In addition to good cheer and scads of cash, is there anything else you might be needing for this? donations and whatnot?
Ps. Is Ben going to make any non-marvel/DC sculpts? (cough-Johnny Alpha-cough)
Not that it matters because I'll be there fer sure. just curious. (ahem-Durham Red)

We're overdue for Wizkids to make Joe on the Lawmaster and other 2000AD characters.

Nope. Sorry.
I did talk to someone yesterday who is coming to the Peoria event and he is donating a chase fig (don't know which) and a brick of WoS that we'll raffle off.
There are 542,000 children in foster care. Talk to your local foster and adoptive agency. You could change a life.
Good news! I just received word that WK is supporting the event once again! We'll update the individual event pages with a list of prizes as we get them finalized.

Kudos to you guys for doing this, and all the players participating. I always loved the big Heroclix events back in the day when I still played, and what better event than for a cause.
Would love to do something like this for Monsterpocalypse some day. Either for Breast Cancer, Diabetes, or some other cause. Maybe in 2011.
