Yep. Moving and placing a character are two different things. (Check out p. 8 of the 2010 Core Rulebook.) While Groot cannot be moved on those clicks, he can be place and Nightcrawler places.
Wow. That is pretty cool. Also if u attack a barrier or object with Nightcrawler how does he move it? I thought you would need a 3 damage first off to even attack it, and even if that is the case, doesn't the object or barrier piece get destroyed?

If you deal 3 damage to an object or a Barrier token it gets destroyed, correct.
However, it is totally legal for Nightcrawler to attack it anyway in order to reposition it - all you need to do is not Perplex up his damage.

Actually, nothing prevents you from attacking the object if you don't have 3 damage.
It only gets destroyed, however, if you actually deal 3 damage to it.
One example is using Blades/Claws/Fangs. I may have a 2 as my printed damage. I can make an attack and roll my BCF. If I get a 3 or more, then I deal enough damage to destroy it. If I roll a 1 or 2, though, I can't.
Now, if you really want your mind blown, keep reading.
While the attack roll automatically succeeds, you can opt to go ahead and roll anyway. Say I have 2 printed, but I don't have BCF. I can make a roll trying to get a critical hit for that +1 damage.

Since the attack automatically succeeds what happens if I crit miss?
With nightcrawler being able to not only repostion characters, but objects and barriers as well, i'm sure he will become a tournament staple in no time. Good thing they made that one character that keeps you from using hypersonic! Now what was his name again..... can't seem to remember.
