I still like the HT sculpt of Aquaman.
Aquaman was so badass at that time...
Still is!
41 points for this? I'll take two!

There are a number of feats that could very easily be re-written to adopt to the modern rules. Shellhead is the one I'd like to see changed to allow it to function on an Indomitable character.
Ugh. Personally, I am VERY happy that Shellhead does NOT work with Indomitable. Sure Power Cosmic figures get a free ride (although very few of them have a full dial of damage reducers), but over all I like the element of sacrifice that is required for the feat. I believe that was the intended *spirit* of the card.
Besides, is there a reason to especially want Shellhead to work with Indomitable that isn't just for utterly cheesy *cough*thorloki*cough* reasons?

I would like to see a re-write of the feat to allow both Dolphin speed types use the feat, but also have a caveat that other pieces with a dolphin based speed type are not affected by this feat.
I think it is a fine house rule, but speaking as a judge, for official games, it is disingenuous to make ruling based on what you believe the intended spirit to be. Got to go by what's printed in black and white on the card.

Still a great sculpt and one of the ones I point to whenever someone starts talking about the supposed "bad quality" that was prevalent at the time.
I popped one of my Hypertime sculpts off and put it on the base of an E Icons Aquaman (who was specifically designed to represent that time in the character's history). Slap Submerged on him and, on a watery map, he's still a pretty solid piece.
Now if putting Shellhead on those four seem like cheese to you, then we clearly have different opinions on what constitutes cheese. Heck, even Thor & Loki aren't cheesy until you load them up with 40 points of feats.
I love the article, however I really do not want to see a Aquaman who can go toe to toe with Namor, since Namor is almost always written at a much higher power level than Aquaman is, and tempest at that time had some mystical element to him as well which I feel adds to his power level.
i used him to great success just last night, but the trick is to not theme the team. I really wanted to use his trait and see how much damage that wear-down would cause, but the limited pool of Atlantis keyword characters are either expensive (Namor's tough to fit on there too at 400) or carp (generic atlantean).
So instead I just built him a good support network, and turned he and Tempest into a single unit. Both with submerged, Aquaman wearing Lunge. Aquaman can carry Tempest with him via the Transporter ability, assuring he always has stealth granting, charge stopping water with him. With Lunge, he is always able to break away 2 spaces, letting him activate his move and attack granted HSS. Or he can just hop around and hit with that massive CCE attack.

Additionally, he can't use Lunge to break away and use Move and Attack. He loses use of HSS if he starts adjacent to an enemy, and the Lunge movement is immediately before the attack. That is, as soon as he moves the 2 squares, he has to make the attack.
Tempest with Submerged still works as a good blocker for BD Aquaman, and Lunge still works to extend his effective HSS speed.
I had GREAT success using the Atlantean Warriors. Normally, they're just easy 1- or 2-hit KOs for the enemy. Now enemies are much less trigger-happy on them, making them very effective tie-up pieces. Their Toughness makes me recommend them a bit more than Aqualad.

Definitely a dink move. But no more than AP + Energy Explosion, and you are giving up points to use this maneuver, after all.

Glad you got that in quotes, because true classic costume Aquaman had a much wider neckline than the current one.

Not so. Amazingly, no Aquaman had Charge until Justice League.

Mmm. In a one-on-one, BD Aquaman KOs Tempest in two moves — even if Tempest gets first attack.

As much flak as the JL common gets AND his lack of a keyword......he really works well, even moreso with all the new water terrain maps we've been getting.

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this Aquaman and played him to good effect last night at 500 points (Atlantis Keyword). One of my favorite figures of all time is E Black Knight, and this figure plays a lot like him. He doesn't have EW, but SS/CCE is a reasonable substitute. I almost felt like he was too good for 105. CP and Tempest's Perplex kept him moving and shaking all game.

FWIW, the tentacle looks great in purple. Who ever heard of a green tentacle anyway? Sheesh.
