In other words, he effectively has watered-down Leap/Climb (he has to break away and can't attack across elevation differences). L/C is a power we see on Bats all the time... perfectly appropriate. The fact that he can't breakaway for free and is limited to 3 damage (with no Outwit) will keep him from being abused... this strikes me as a very fun piece!
You're right ... and that was something that occurred to me right after i posted: the Flight ability does not equal .
flight ability:"a character with this ability can move through squares adjacent to and occupied by opposing characters" doesn't that mean he doesn't need to rool for breakaway?

No - he ignores characters when getting around, but when given an action resulting in movement while adjacent to someone the breakaway rules still apply. He has to "rool" like anyone else. Unless, of course, it's cloobering time.

I doubt it will be ruled that way. It's laying out an option, but there's no language there that insists they be played together in order to activate it. I'm not reading the "and" as being a binding item.
Yeah, at the very least, you can look at it this way: Robin, wherever he is, moves 0 squares as part of this. That covers "up to 2 squares" clause of Robin.
Seems to be a really good representation of Dick at the time of Batman & Robin #1.
Someone asked why there's no JLofA keyword, even though this is a vet... Based on the sculpt and powers, I'd say this is Dick when he first really became Batman, which was quite a while before joining/leading the JLA. As to why it's a Vet, think of it this way: Robin = rookie, Nightwing = experienced, Batman = veteran. It's a veteran representation of Dick Grayson as a hero/crimefighter, not necessarily as Batman.
It'll be really interesting to see how people play this one vs. Out of the Shadows. Now, do you think we'll be getting a new Robin to go along with this one, or will we be waiting another set?

When it comes to Superman and Batman, Grant Morrison is nothing but a 50's cover band in a 70's psychedelic funk style.

I say play this Bats, OotS Bats, AA Robin, and BatB Robin all together and laugh as two generations of Batmen and Robins smite your foes!

Hate to be a buzz kill, but it's a Batman without outwit! I know it's Dick Grayson, but he was taught by the best detective around, he should have pick up a thing or two.
The sculpt is mehhh and the "smoke cloud maneuver" as the power just isn't that great. 2 squares even though they are a free 2 squares is just that, "2 squares"... A different take on Batman as Dick Grayson for sure, but for his point cost and without outwit I don't think he is worth grabbing for unless your a fan of Dick Grayson as Batman or want to be thematically accurate.
Absolutely perfect! He shouldn't have Outwit--as has been pointed out in the book, he doesn't plan and scheme like Bruce...
"It's all in the timing."
What a great version of Dick as Batman!
Agree 100%.

This character ignores the effects of hindering terrain, elevated terrain, and outdoor blocking terrain on movement. A character with this ability can move through squares adjacent to and occupied by opposing characters. An elevated character with this ability ignores knock back damage if its knock back path crosses the boundary of elevated terrain.
I think flight is OK for Batman. He still can't carry (no or ) and Batman will usually go over whoever he wants to get to his target when it is important enough. He still has to roll break-away.
I like it. The sculpt, on the other hand, I'm not a big fan of. The pose is OK, but the torso seems short compared to the legs (but that could just be the way it is photographed) and the paint job is poor, especially for a preview. Fortunately for WK I don't buy the game for the sculpt/paint quality.
My only gripe is his veteran status. Should have been a rookie seeing as he only recently took over the Batman mantle. Can't wait to play him with Robin!
