Love the Surfer and love the Defenders, oddly enough the only Surfer I have is Sentinel of the Skyways. I was lucky enough to get him during the hiatus at a fraction of the cost, very potent figure on that or any team.

Great article! I also feel the need for comic accurate teams, thats what originally brought me to Clix, playing my favorite teams together. I usually suffer for it competitively though. However Ive only been playing under 2 yrs, so Im sure your article will help. Thats also we play Highlander Rule in my shop, unless we have a special "clone wars" scenario. Rep given. (DOH! gotta spread...........etc)

A great article. I happened to pick up Sentinel of the Skyways during the clix hiatus for around 5 bucks from a shop that was liquidating it's clix stuff and am extremely grateful for that seeing his growing secondary market price. I love the piece and he serves extremely well on a Defenders team (although I have found that the Defenders work best in very high point games. Really 600+ if you want to do the "Big 4" with some support). He's usually found "running and gunning" and sharing his high defense and softening up targets at range for the vicious combo of Kyle Richmond and Exp. Valkyrie from Sinister.

First thing, great article.

I do have one suggestion for future articles. Include the set and number of the figure for quicker reference. I know you have a link to the unit, but it wouldn't hurt for even quicker reference and it would avoid having to navigate away from the article.

Really like the article SLVR and i'm not really a surfer fan. Talk about being thorough. My only query is the high rating of power cosmic on your stars system. For a one man army 'cosmic' is king but if you want him to be a team player at 300 surely 'Defenders' would rate higher so he can share and share alike? I'm not disputing that 'Power Cosmic' is the best TA on the Marvel PAC but in the case of theme teams is it as useful?
