Deadpool was basically the best mix-up of Spider-man, Wolverine, and Punisher into one. It took a bunch of cooky writing to make the character interesting. I appreciate who he is, but like most Marvel Poster-Boys, he is becoming overrated much like his Clix. I like his WoS Version because I find it accurate.
I find the new X-force LE catering to the audience that is driving the character into the ground. But, maybe that's why he is an LE opposed to more of the set - The duo character is awesome given the Civil War Run that started the Cable/Deadpool series. Not really sure why the LE has toughness - don't necessarily agree on that point - He can heal ridiculously well, but toughness - Deadpool doesn't get Damage Reduction - he takes it, and champs i by healing. One more reason he's going to be the most OP character for a long time.
Actual founding Marvel Comics characters' that have sets named after them i.e. Spider-man are being railed over by OP characters such as Deadpool. Classic Red and Blue Spidey, where's the love, you sell Marvel's Comics. Deadpool, the old cult classic is becoming the new contender, and everyone plays with him. Womp Womp. Guess all it takes is breaking the 4th wall to get people interested.

I have to say that in terms of playability and competitiveness, LE Deadpool is much better. With the X-Force ATA, LE DP is an effective sniper for the range-hungry X-Force theme thanks to an 11 Attack and effective 5-damage (3natural+RCE). Teamed with Psylocke (and why shouldn't you if you're playing X-Force?), D'Pool can take out most average figs or seriously dent longer lived ones. He's also a better survivor thanks to the Combat reflexes/ESD+natural 17 up top with Toughness (19 to hit with a damage reducer is a pain for any standard figure), good placement of regen, a deeper dial (8 clicks compared to the 7 of the SR), and can get out of dodge when the going gets tough (2 clicks of 10 phasing).
If you're playing for fun or have a Keyword that LE 'Pool does not have, then use the SR. But if you want a solid team player, White Pool is the man to choose.
Spideysteve - How is the WoS accurate, but the GSX is not? The WoS has a chance of either reducing all damage to 1 (like Prime, Blob, Ulik or FCBD Iron Man) or ignoring ALL damage and instead healing a click. You could nail him for 7 clicks and he'll not only ignore it but be better off after the attack resolves. How is that more accurate? As you said, Deadpool takes damage, then heals. Half of the time, WoS Deadpool simply doesn't take damage.
I like the GSX LE simply because he feels more in line with the actual character. The WoS Deadpool us too good. Deadpool shouldn't be better than Wolverine, a character who defeats him every time they fight.
Mjolnir- Thor, Cap, Ultron(HoT), FCBDIronMan, V Kang, LE Hulk(SN), CookieManhunter, Flash(JL), Sinestro(75) FastballSpecial, SkrullPym, MsSkrullvel
if only the Cable & Deadpool figure had an ability called "Bosom Buddies" thats wold be great....especially since theres a Vs card with that name....but i love the ability called "Choose me! Im way cooler!"

So what I wrote may have been somewhat incoherent psychobabble - however, I actually agree with you. I think the character of Deapool is OP to the extreme. He is not all that and a bag of chips. I don't think the Damage Reduction Toughness on the LE is comic accurate, which I find ironic given their use of the new special, "New Writer".
I think the WoS one is way too powerful, if anything, I think his healing ability is fine, but he should be a tie-up piece of sheer vexing torment. He's the merc with the mouth for crying out loud, not "the Juggernaut, $%^&*!" He should be on par as a tie-up as the WoS Red and Blue Spidey with his Spidey Sense.
All around, the character of Deadpool had new writers all the time cause he was not that popular - however, the cult clasic Deadpool has become the new age version of Wolverine - He's in every comic and being used to beat comic fans over the head with humor, but not consistency or continuity. Making this Click is proof of that.
The only Deadpool I approve and advocate is the Cable/Deadpool Duo - Very good and Accurate given the team-up. Cable is a Beast and Deadpool adds to the mix.

Good article, although I have to disagree, the LE is head and shoulders above the SR. He's reliable and accurate. Deadpool used to not be as retardedly crazy as he is now. Anyone who considers themselves a real Deadpool fan knows that the original Deadpool, particularly when Kelly was writing's insanity only extended to his personality and dialogue, not his combat style.
I feel like I can be an elitist about this character because I've been reading him since he started... I can't say that about a lot of people. The SR character is the MODERN character, which is tired, and is a character that writers have ran into the ground without fully understanding or grasping Wade.

Nice review. It provides at least one man's answer to a question that had been on my mind.
Most notably, I give you big rep for talking not just about the dial, traits, etc, but also the SCULPT, POSE and COLOR! These are the things that sometimes matter most to me. :-)
