Glad we finally get a Salaak, and he looks useful (honestly it would take some difficulty for a SP that is BT to not be useful) but for the only dial we are going to be getting for him I was hoping for a bit more. Don't get me wrong, he's good........I just wanted a bit more.
On the other hand, 'Wog is awesome. And we still have another dial in the 6-pack (and the dials are going to be averaging 100 pts each.......keeping in mind that the Guardian and possibly Sinestro probably will cost more IMO) we might get a cheaper 'Wog dial to compliment this one very well. Looking very good for 'Wog!
I think the first team I will take him out for a spin is
145 'Wog(GL-GF)
137 FCBD Hal(DC75)
110 Guy(DC75)
------------
392 pts............probably toss in the Gem for 5 pts.

Still, loving the great GL's coming our way. I know some people are more than sick of them but I can't get enough of the Corps.
Agreed. I'm sure this is exactly what movie 'Wog will look like but I already have a flightstand and the Unl sculpt ready to go.

Kilowog lays the smack down with his Charge, while your shooter is in position to blast away. Good way to double-team a tough opponent.

Excelent use of Poozer.
It is almost upon us! Are you prepared for the Quarmageddon?
These both look great, and combine that with the 85 pt Green Lantern, and the Corps is looking amazing. Do not miss the loss of the GL TA, as I favor specific keywords over generic. So these will see use for me near-exclusively in GLC teams. Also glad to see a lot of support spread around. However...I only hope that the Fast Forces figures are similarly dialed, as I will be getting that and would prefer to not acquire figures from the gravity feed set with the same sculpt as those. Looking forward to seeing Boodika on Monday.
Kilowog finally returns in a big way! Sadly, I can't theme him up with his JLI fellows except for Guy. Awww! Well, I guess we can't have everything. But this is a very efficient dial for only 145 points, nearly as good as some exceptional pieces in his range (LE Kyle Rayner, LE Deadpool, LE Cable, SI Namor, et al).
Ok. Kilowog is my second favorite DC character of all time. And I really want to like that figure, I am trying really hard to talk myself into liking that figure. There is a lot of goodness there to enjoy, but I have to say i am more then a little disappointed in the figure. In complete fanboy mode I wanted a Kilowag that could go toe to to with Arkillo. And this figure is not that. I guess cause they are basing him off the movie, and not the books, and i need to understand that. But that sculpt looks like terrible, the character design for the movie looks terrible(not that I had high hopes for him looking good in CGI), and that dial, they could have at least given him the TA so he could carry a swarm of soldiers in with him to take advantage of Enhancement. I am glad to finally have a kilowog piece in Modern, but I guess I had my fanboy hopes to high.
There will be another Kilowog in the fast forces set, so maybe that one will be more in line what what you're looking for.
I think both of them are quite good, though I agree with the sculpt issues for 'wog.
Penance of the Thunderbolts Clan: Don't make me hit myself. You wouldn't like me when I hit myself
'Wog is the close combat beatdown piece the Corp desperately needed (No disrespect to 75th Guy Gardner, who's an offensive monster). He's the guy that ties up the opposition while the other GL's snipe from range. He's what they porbably envisioned dial wise for the JL SR Guy Gardner but finally got it right (it only took a couple years to get it right ... ). Raven Project's right on with a diagram of how you should be playing 'Wog. Positioning is key with him to make use of the enhancement.
The only thing I wish 'Wog had was the Justice League International keyword. I understand why he doesn't (he's the movie version). But still ...
I *WILL* be replacing his movie sculpt with the old Unique sculpt.
Salaak is fun too. He's great support. Keep him in the back to make sure the GL's hit.
Now all we need is an eratta on 75 Rayner's trait and we're golden!
I like what they did with Kilowog's dial. Built in Willpower c/o indomitable, Invulnerability (About time they gave this to him) and an ability that boosts his team mates, and all for 145 points.
Salaak isn't half bad either. I wish they gave him a slightly better defense, but considering he is the administrator of the guardians (I'm assuming that holds true even in the movie) the dial is acceptable.
Hello there HeroClix Fans!
Today we continue our exploration of the Green Lantern gravity feed figures and I can’t think of anyone better to spotlight than two GL’s who have devoted themselves to the efficient and effective operation of the Corps.
Without further adieu, let’s start with Salaak!
It's bean a long wile since I've posted, butt I had two stick my ore in hear. If WizkidsNECA ewes the phrase "without further adieu" wonmorethyme, Eye will end myself.
On the plus side, I couldn't be more stoked that two such criminally overlooked characters are finally getting the clix treatment (I'm not counting the Kilowog from Unleashed because... well... just look at it :speechles ). Both dials are great takes on the characters IMO, the GLC just got a HUGE supporting boost (and we're only on the second spoiler! )
MZA No power in the 'verse can stop me...

Why can this 'Wog not do that?
Sure he costs more but that's because he has powers devoted to being a team member (Enhancement and the SP) and Arkillo is more of a foccused figure of destruction.
But 1-on-1 I think 'Wog's and starting click gives him the edge more often then not.

QFT. Indomitable is key. And Arkillo will have a hard time hitting that 17 with his 9 attack for most of his dial.
This is why we don't need feat cards anymore, good sps can easily take the place of them. With out having a bunch of humans running around with nanobots. This is way more comic accurate! I'm liking these new GL's too.

ok, so i am liking the new pieces but i am noticing a shoddy Defense numbers...at least on Killowog...i mean he should atleast have a higher Defense number...but i am still impressed and i got to have me some of these lanters!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and no TA is kind of wierd

QFT. I could not agree more.

Agreed. Neither is terrible, but I'm more in love with that Kilowog dial than the Salaak one. 100 pts for a support piece ain't cheap. I'll be looking to get an extra Kilowog dial (FF Pack or Micro set, depending on which dial I prefer) to do a figure swap, but I really like the dial itself.
CarlosMucha: that is like be running in a Olimpic race competition just one step to get the gold and then a Giant children place a mirror in your side and you discover what you are really a hamster over a whell and the gold is just a slice of chess. Avatar Summoning: Original GotG, Melter, Whiplash
My only complaint with these two is Kilowog. It looks like he's made of lumpy oatmeal. At least he's incentive to start modding figures again. Salaak will find a place on every Lantern team I field, now. Prob AND Perplex on a guy I won't mind using TK with instead of attacking. Very nice.
