Favorites and most successful are pretty much the same thing. If I like the way they play, they work with my style, they do well. Typically if a team doesn't do well for me, its just because I don't like the structure as well, so I don't use it.
So, Fave/success: JSA (featuring KC Superman), Defenders, All-Star Squadron
Two that I like that I have generally been successful with are the Inhumans, and Marvel Knights, both of whom are characters I'm extremely fond of. However, I don't include them in the above list because I find that, over time, they are becoming harder and harder to use. I have to feat the living crap out of them to generally keep them successful.
I wish that Marvel Knights had an ATA, since most of them are wildcards, and that Spider-Ally team ability is just a point-sink if they don't have any other TAs within the theme team.
The Inhumans are just getting old. Medusa and Crystal have always taken a lot of skill and focus to use, they just aren't great, especially with the change to the FF ATA. Gorgon and Karnak still generally pull their weight, as does the super cheap Lockjaw, but the attack values on Quicksilver and Triton just don't hold up. The centerpiece is Black Bolt, who is just waaaay too squishy opening with a 17 Defend. Feats and utilizing his long range can keep him active, but basing him will quickly smack him past his good attack clix, and his Defense only continues to become more tragic.
There are a few teams that need some love in order to stay competitive with the new releases. I'm sure they'll come. left-behind squads like Hydra, obviously, get looked at again in time. Both of those teams need a new tent-pole *cough*Blackbolt*cough* at least to go back into my regular rotation.

Nicely done! I LOVE playing the Inhumans and I try to play them often. I get a lot of strange looks because I almost always play Maximus.
The 600 pt. team I usually field is:
Black Bolt w/ Nova blast
Crystal w/ Nova blast and Nanobots
Gorgon w/ Lunge
Maximus
Karnak
Vet Lockjaw
599 pts.
One game, I was last to go in a 5 player melee scenario. 3 of my friends decided to have a scrum in the middle of the board. I said "don't forget about me", perplexed up Crystals attack, Maximus Tk'ed Crystal out where she promptly Nova blasted for a total of 39 clicks. The best part about it was I positioned a couple of objects in that area so when she NB'ed everyone she immediately got her clicks back! Needless to say, she didn't last that long afterward. But it was so worth it to see the look of shock on everyone's face! Everybody was wary of a nova blasting Black Bolt but I previously moved him a different direction. Nobody expected that from Crystal! We all had a good laugh about it.
My best Blackagar moment was pushing him to Nova blast on his last click after pushing Maximus to tk him into position. That removed most of the FF from the board, as well as Gorgon. It was beautiful!
Anyway, you are absolutely correct in your assessment of the Inhumans, especially Black bolt, and I hope they will be attended to in the future. Especially after the War of Kings series that elevated them on the whole to where they belong, power-wise.

We're overdue for Wizkids to make Joe on the Lawmaster and other 2000AD characters.

Favorites:
Agents of Atlas
Brotherhood
Fearsome Five
X-Force (old school line up)
Most Successful:
Agents of Atlas
Exiles (Morph, Proteus, Blink LE, Longshot, Spidey 2099)
JLA (Oots Bat, Crisis Green Arrow, Supes/Flash duo, 75th Aquaman)
Invaders
Favorite - Sinister Syndicate. Just a lot of fun to play, and with the newer figures form WoS, they are surprisingly good and effective.
Effective - Green Lantern Corps. I've been playing them a lot lately. In games ranging from 300 points, to 1,000 points. The new figures are just awesome. Indomitable is huge. As are the FREE action Barrier of John Stewart, and the FREE action TK of Kyle. My buddy is sick of seeing them They have a great synergy.
Trade to Canada. We're friendly, and we love Beavers..........
The GLC out of the Gravity feeds have stupid good synergy and have been played a lot by me lately. Boodika is on most of my non-Meta teams now (like V Bron or V Johnny Alpha were in the long past).
Favorite: Gotham City (for Batman)
...though admitedly I haven't played a GC theme since the semis at last years Gencon.
Favorite? I run WAY too many theme teams to call a favorite. I enjoy the versatility of the Exiles, though, and I'm a big fan of the Invaders as well. Otherwise, it varies by the moment.
Most Successful? I've done mean, mean things with all manner of Gotham City over the years, although one or two players at the local venue remember when I used to rock the house with the Fantastic Four. So far, I'm having a reasonably good run with the Marvel Knights, centering around Daredevil (see my KO listings on the Tournament Reports section for more information).
Favorite: X-Men. Any point build, any time! Favorite and most successful within just X teams probably being this 700 point build:
128 Rogue
123 Prof. X
110 Cyclops
105 Wolverine (WoS)
86 Nightcrawler
74 Psylocke
66 Armor
8 X-Force
But I make about a million different X-teams and utopia teams (Namor and Magneto are already good enough without the X-Men keyword, but I can dream).
Most successful in tournament play for me has been various spy and martial artist teams. But I don't really play to crush anymore, just to have fun w/ my favorite characters.
Most Successful:
- Green Lantern Corps. - Thanks to the Fast Forces and Gravity Feed, the GLC has finally become as effective as the Sinestro Corps. I've had great luck in anywhere from 300-400 point games. In the past, this just wasn't feasible, let alone powerful enough for the points.
2 Guardians at 300 points is just nasty. Salaak, GLFF Kilowog and GLFF Sinestro make for a pretty good 300 pointer as well.
Once ThingTron is retired (Arkham and SI are next to go) I think some of the GLC could work into next year's Meta. Not as a theme, but FF Sinestro or GF Tomar maybe. However Moonstone, ShazAdam, Bullseye, and Nightcrawler won't be retired anytime soon (unless they take more than AA, SI, and BA). As long as we have cost effective HSS and Thunderbolts it will likely dominate Meta.
