without taxieing ranged figs would rule supreme,
As hard as it might be for some players on this forum to believe (and good for them -- people should play however they like since the name of the game is having fun) not everyone automatically takes the best clix or combination of clix; use taxis and medics in every battle; team up villains with heroes; or take multiple versions of the same figure (including between players).
As for ranged figs -- well, most good ranged figs have an easier time dominating the game with a cheap taxi to move them into position -- why move Firelord or Bullseye using their own power into position when you can fly them to a prime site and attack at long range without the need to push? Then, of course, you can still use the taxi to fly them away from a dangerous opponent on the next turn.
Taxi to battle, taxi away from battle, taxi to a medic, etc., etc.,etc.
Hey, I'm not suggesting the average player is going to agree with me -- but being that taxiing is the fundamental strategy to Heroclix, I still find it tiresome.
That's why I suggested people try playing the game (at least a couple of times) without automatically taking taxis and dominant clix. You'd be surprised how much fun it can be. But that's just me.
Originally posted by quixotequest I didn't explain myself well. I meant: also address the reasoning why they have ruled that EE *does not* affect Stealthed figures. I agree with your reasoning. In that case Elektra shouldn't be able to be targeted with EE, but she should still be affected by Daredevil's splash damage (if any).
I don't believe he realized quite what you were saying, and so he didn't address the problem head-on, but he's right---EE splash does affect Stealthed figures. Stealth only affects LoF, which isn't relevant for splash damage. That's the current ruling, and it has been for as long as I can recall.
Hey darkorinth, can you point me in the direction of a ruling on that adjacency problem for the last stair step and the first building square? The judge said he was running the tourney according to WK rules and that the adjecency fix would have been a modified house rule.
Thanks
They say the best weapon is one you never have to fire. I respectfully disagree. I prefer the weapon you only have to fire once. That's how Dad did it, that's how America does it, and it's worked out pretty well so far." Robert Downey/Tony Stark

that's true, but I can also taxi hercules or some other melee fig next to Bullseye and clobber him for 3,4 damage !
Hercules on his own has no chance of even reaching Bullseye !
you know, not everybody uses taxies purely for ranged figs !
even IF I would use my taxi for a ranged fig, it also makes sure that the biggest ranged figs DON'T dominate the field.
you can never be out of range for someone else !
YES, taxiing back and forth to the healers is a bit cheesy and I would like WK to change that (so you would still have to break away).
second, I always play teamed battles Vulture will NEVER see the light of day in my hero-team !
We always play Hero/villain (except for booster drafts) AND no duplicates !
and ussually no mixing Marvel/DC.
Sinister Syndicate/six, well the Vulture is part of that group so yes he would go in there!
I don't like Bullseye, so I don't even play with him !
IF I want to play without taxies I will go play Mageknight thank you.
the taxi is what makes HC a dynamic fast moving game IMHO.
