Yesterday I played in a tournament. I went 3-0 with 0 points lost in any game, and KO'd all opponents figures. It was a 400 point "Fantastic Four" event where you had to have a 'good guy' team, and a 'bad guy' team, dice roll off to choose who plays what.
I only played this team in the first round, because i lost team choice in the next two rounds. I played against an X-Men team fronted by Cyclops with the Infinity Gauntlet /Power/Soul Gems. As one might expect, Cyclops might not be the best Gauntlet owner. I chose SI map. Sabretooth kept Magneto in debris and Magneto shot people. Sabretooth did get to hunt down Emma Frost and play with his food a bit.
The Justice League of America
200 The Flash / Green Lantern
80 Green Arrow
75 Batman
44 Gypsy
In the second round I went up against Manhunter Grandmaster with Infinity Gauntlet Power/Soul Gem and three Manhunters. I chose SI map. This game could have gone either way in the beginning, but Manhunter Grandmaster hit barry/Hal onto Phasing, and they ran away for repositioning. Batman pretty much kept Henshaw from ever having Hypersonic, but the biggest thing that went in my favor was that my opponent had gotten the +1 to all stats and decided to roll for the Gauntlet...taking him back to the beginning.
Third round I played these guys again, because I lost team roll. I faced a Hydra team with GF Skull, Madame Hydra, Von Strucker and the surprisingly effective Mentallo. I chose map again....SI.
The prize was Skrull Black Bolt. I gave it to one of the players that didn't have one, as I own him already. I don't think i've ever totally owned a tournament like that in all my years playing HeroClix. No points lost, no points spared. The worst thing about it is, i am in the middle of the bracket on supremacy league and no one will challenge me.
Congrats!
Did I mention that this Wednesday's tournament when I ended up in third was like this for me. I earned 100% of the points available to me in each round and never gave up a single point. I couldn't have done any better.
I honestly think that tie breakers should be the net of points scored versus points given up. It solves some of the problems of opponents turtling once they know they will lose, and some of the underbuilt problems.

It actually used to work like that. Victory points were the total that you KOed plus the total you had remaining.
Unfortunately, it encouraged turtling like crazy. I think the game is better for the change.
Fantastic Four would still be a decent bet, if you can get your hands on a V FF Mr. Fantastic. 2x Brilliant Tacticians.
I don't own the starter one either, and I don't know if the ultimate one would violate the highlander rule or lot. There's definitely a TON of utility in the Fantastic Four in this environment, but I don't own almost any of them.

Maybe try looking into GSX Mystique? Tons of named keywords, and she's a BT off the bat without having to push.
Longest-Reigning Drunken HeroClix Champion - anyone got a liver?
Oh! Got it: X-Factor. 2x BTs in Mystique and Madrox (with a push on Madrox), but 2x Madrox REALLY ought to be fine in highlander circumstances if you want to stay economical (if he isn't, your judge needs to read a comic book).

Yeah, that's fine I'm sure.

No other Brilliant Tacitians on the Brotherhood keyword wise, certainly not under 100.
If the two different Reeds violate no-named dupes your judge needs to read a comic book (although the Ultimate U and Marvel U have never teamed up directly). If they don't then Fantastic Four is an easy choice.
Your best bet is probably Batman Enemies or X-Men/Factor. Beast from Mutations and Monsters is under 100. Vet Harley Quinn is well under 100. That's a start.
