Excellent! I was hoping this would happen. I really enjoyed it last time and am looking forward to it.
Friday's the only day I'm going to the show this year (the show itself's been a race between irrelevance and repulsion) and this should be a terrific way to cap off the day.
I hear ya, Miraclo.
I just did the budget over the weekend and it's either go to the con and be broke or go out and do fun stuff and have cash. Care to guess which way I am leaning?

I'll be there for the dinner. Might be at the Con Friday and Saturday, but at the booth for Pennhurst Asylum. Gotta do makeup for our actors and wander the floor doing promotion for the haunt.
If I'm not needed for our booth, I'll just hit the dinner. I think C wanted to come for the dinner as well. I'll have to have her log on and do the RSVP.

I'm with ya there. I'd rather just get a one-day con pass and then hang out/game to be honest. Y'know, as much as I like paying 50% mark-up on Toy Biz Marvel figures from the mid-90s.

Good to hear, T-Funk.
I am very much looking forward to hanging out and yadda yadda yadda.

Had a good time Friday night and so did my players. Food was good as was the company. Everyone seemed to scatter pretty quickly after the free stuff was given away. Perhaps next year we should have those "Hello my name is..." with our realms names on them. I know it sounds corny, but at least we will know who is who.
AZS and Typhon, thank you for another fun evening at the Field House. The food was good and plentiful. The company, as always, spectacular. This is a wonderful community and I'm so happy to have the chance to get to know a bunch of you in person.

That had been done in previous gatherings...
I think we should rally and encourage Wiz Kids to attend next year.

I definitely second this. I'm five decades of wallflower and am already utterly out of my element in a bar with whatever passes for music thumping away distractingly. My party social skills are virtually nonexistent and the extra ice-breaker of being able to have name tags which we could at least put Realms IDs on would have been a helpful icebreaker. (It didn't help that I'd let myself become dehydrated before getting there.)

Right, and would be worth doing again.
Anyway, thanks again. This cap to the day has become the main reason for even bothering with coming into the city for Wizard World.

About the name tags - I agree. It's always great to put a face to a screen name. There were a lot of new faces and unfortunately I did not get to meet and greet everyone at the party.
About the event - it was as great as ever, with good drink specials and tasty appetizers that just kept coming on and on. Big thanks to AZS for organizing the party and to Typhon for footing the bill. The swag was nice as well. I hope that this is a tradition that stays the course for the foreseeable future.
About the scattering afterwards - a whole bunch of us HCR Made Members had booked a karaoke lounge. We had to be at Tazia Restaurant by 9:30 pm, hence the exodus.
I must say that HCR Appreciation Night + Friday Night Karaoke = a powerful combination and an EPIC evening all around.

It was great to meet a few of my "online friends", if only for a few hours. I actually was clever enough to wear a name-tag: given name and Realms handle. Alas, I was NOT clever enough to "work the room" and meet everyone there. Silly me. and my apologies.
However, to Michelle, Tom and the other folks I did meet and chat with, thanks for a great evening! To AZS, thanks for organizing the get-together and not least for spotting my HCR t-shirt when I'd almost given up hope that I was at the right place at the right time. And one more time for the swag and LE sale! Got a few cool figs for my collection!
Next year, I will plan better, leave home earlier, and NOT drive through lower Manhattan or northern New Jersey.
Ever. Again.
