There isn't much difference either way. I usually make the most of my pulls and still couldn't put any damage on Avengers Prime during my last sealed. One way is cheesefest the other is luck of the draw.

Still, I would rather do sealed than play against 4 Sentroids. So lame.

theavengerthor has a point here. You go from having an event that is limited in what they can play so the only super cheese that you will see is the big 3, Chase Thanos, Sentroid, or a Colossal ( Ziran or Galactus ).

If you play in a sealed event you still do run the risk of having a Ventry pulled and played against you and if your pulls are garbage you get to play a Sentroid with Iron Man Drones and Egghead.....I am having my people play the suggested 500 point army from the 3 sets, Hulk, guardians, and Chaos War. That means no Gauntlet, no gems, only things that came out for the specified sets.

My venue is doing the event in this way:

500pts, no fig over 299pts, non-generic theme teams only.
Sets: Marvel only, Cap through CW

We think that should keep things varied and interesting enough.

Am I the only one fearing a combination of Sentry/Void and Sharon Carter sitting together in debris from that broken Blocking terrain? Blast two squares on the edge of the elevated with Multi-Attack HSS, then just camp out in two squares of elevated hindering terrain?



It'll be awful. Unless you've got a Ventry and intend to do this.

Anyone else notice how the only printed hindering is 5 squares away from the start and Mistress Death only has 4 move w/stealth? Not that it matters at all, just thought that was interesting.

It looks like a character sitting in B4 or C12 and their corresponding mirror squares would be safe from all 3 x 6 colossals. I don't think there is a way to position the colossal and get a line of fire to those two squares without destroying blocking terrain first.

Please tell me I'm wrong, I was thinking running Galactus for IG8.

See, now that you pointed that out players will realize that strategy. Prior to that, I wasn't sure anyone would catch it.

It's not Chesse, it is a known competative event where every is expected to play to win. Calling it chesse than is just noobish...

Cannot agree here. I have already tested several teams that can beat the cheese using none cheese.

What is the format for the tournament. What is the build total. I heard it is 500pts only figures from Chaos War, GG, and Hulk are legal is this correct?

I am not to worried about this map in terms of the Infinity Gauntlet but then again that maybe because of my judges rules for this event. Make a 250 point team from chaos, and crack open 4 Marvel 10 year anniversary and make a 400 point team. That way no Sentry/Void to worry about or Avengers Prime. One note we record our team crack open the boosters and can make 400 point from those pieces.

Always check with your local venue/judge to see how they will be running the event.
