I think these target exclusives will be pretty darn hard to get.

Sure there were plenty of chase lokis after the initial rush but lots of people don't want or need chases.

In theory EVERYONE who buys the hobbit will want a full set of dwarves...

I got a sealed display at Target today. Split it with a buddy and we each got a set. Now, a lot of those were extras...

Also, the vendors that service those portions of target vary widely; they might stock/restock ANY day of the week, at nights, in the AMs, Sunday, who knows? They are not stocked by regular target folk, so there's no way of knowin'.

Is anyone "forcing" people to purchase something? No.

Is WK making it more difficult than necessary to collect a set? I'd say yes.

Now, would I ever accuse WK of "forcing" me to get or want what they put out? Of course not. I'm not being forced to be a buyer or a fan. Nor am I forced to support channels with which I disagree.

FWIW, I don't even care about the Hobbit set. I DO, however, feel for those who have had to weather numerous shenanigans for their audacity to purchase a product.

Its not a product, itsa collectible. NECA has been in the collectibles market for a long time. They know how to make things collectible and how to drive demand and how to make MONEY.
If its not for you (I've never sought out any of their other movie/video game/supah-hero toys), I guess there's no problem. But if it is YOU (and I am one) who wants that stuff, either make a decision to buy it or don't, buy it on the secondary or don't. But never say someone--ANYONE--"forced" you to do anything.

No, it's both. And, in this case, WK is making it more difficult than it needs to be (IMO, YMMV) to collect the set.

People want to go in for it, good on 'em. I'm all set.

I think in this instance forced is the right word for him. He's not saying WK is forcing him to buy anything, but if he wants them he is more looking toward the secondary market then the primary.

Yeah, that's how I read it. And, honestly, I can understand the frustration.

I'd just say wait, like, a month. The market will flood, and you'll be able to get the things for less than retail.
