That is unduly harsh. A character with THAT name, THAT costume, and THAT sort of power set was one of the primary members of the Birds of Prey for years. NOT giving her the keyword would have been stupid. This way she can dropped into a BoP team or a Nu52 team and no one will feel like they're breaking theme. Let's not limit our options as players just because the back of the card says "Wayne" on it.
Your endorsement of poor quality control sickens me.
You have to realise Wizkids probably wanted to give us the figure we want, but DC corporate is pushing the Nu52 thing really hard. Lawyers are probably checking names but not powers. If you look at the character bios in the DC #0 issues, they act like there was no DC before Nu52, and call all the first issues first appearances. As if there was no Superman before 2010.
Of course DC is pushing the new versions of the books hard. They have to.
But as for the old stuff? Clearly they don't have any intention of shelving it - as far as toys & imagery is concerned. And they keep pumpimg out trades of old stories....
You want evidence? You've just gotten an entire set filled with characters that have yet to make their NU52 debuet. And before that? There was a set called DC 10th anniversary.
No, the errors on this Huntress is just more typical WK sloppiness.
Meh. Fairly mediocre which is highly disappointing.
Pros:
59 points is fairly cheap
10 attack to start
Cons:
No Willpower on first click means she pushes off her first click and gets a -1 to attack with little upgrade.
80% of her dial has below average attack values.
Huntress has no real role on a team. Running Shot is nice but she lacks the mobility to get into position quickly (No jumping from rooftops to rooftops for her).
5 range is short.
Special Power isn't very useful except situationally. CCE is just fine (and allows her to use Lunge) but the rest of the power is based on ranged attacks where she does 2 damage. The -2 penalty applies to the second to the last desirable combat value, movement. With a 5 range she is going to be close to the action and the -2 is less likely to make a difference (as opposed to an 8 range). With the below average attack values, she is much more likely to Incap herself thanks to ES/D, Average + defenses, Hindering Terrain, etc.
The SP should have had you place a token on the hit figure and then give you the -2 (which would have been better on attack, defense, or damage instead - where its really meaty).
So what do we have? A fairly mediocre piece who will be the weakest member of the BoP teams. That sucks. I'd have preferred a dial more like a Robin.
Fingers crossed the FF Huntress follows the Red Robin style (vastly better than his Main Set dial) and not the Harley Quinn style (sucks in EVERY form!).
Visible Dials and Pushing Damage need to be optional. This is the way.

I agree with most of what you said (Except for the Harley thing, I happen to think the Primer Harley was quite good), but with the trend things are following lately, those attack values may be on the good side once everything up to Batman cycles out. Values are taking a slight dip to negate power creep lately, so I don't think she'll be suffering against many future defense values. However, that still doesn't account for her unforgivably low range, as she's a crossbow expert, so she should at least have 7.
Being a big BoP fan I'm happy to see a new Huntress. I wish she was better, more of a representation of the tail-kicker seen in either Gail Simone's BoP run or in the current World's Finest. But this is definitely better than any previous version. An average 9 attack and almost 17 DV versus the average not-quite-7 attack and just-over-13 DV of the HT Vet is no contest for me. I can pay fewer points for a figure that's basically points on a plate for my opponent is not a selling point.
The name mix-up is unfortunate, and it would be nice to know which figure this actually is: the "old" BoP/JLI Huntress or the Earth 2 World's Finest member. There are quite a few of the old BoP figures in these two sets, so it's not a given either way.
I can explain it to you, but I can't understand it for you.
“No matter how subtle the wizard, a knife between the shoulder blades will seriously cramp his style.”
Could a potential Birds Of Prey ATA save this 59 pointer?
Unlikely.
I feel like the bm015 Nightrunner dial, for nine points less and dropping the range, would be a better choice over a figure like this for a new low point Bat Ally.
Hopefully we see this character with a slightly more aggressive dial in another form as well.
Caught most of the "Arrow" episode tonight, and guess who the main new character was!?! Helena Bertinelli, as a mobster daughter turned nondescript weird motorcycle helmet vigilante. And preview for next week shows her in a recognizable Huntress costume.

I agree that the stats in Batman are noticeably low compared the the prior sets - but WK always drops stats after insane Superman sets. I'll guarantee Spider-Man brings those numbers much higher.
Regardless, even when facing an Arkham Guard, she is doing too little damage to take them out like she should (assuming she rolls a 7 to hit that fool). That, for me, is not Huntress.
When a guy like Nightrunner or El Gaucho or Batwoman get dials as good or better than this Huntress, it is a problem for me. She should be a threat - not a minor annoyance for taking theme team prob tokens.
Maybe she'll be good at slowing down vehicles if I can roll those 8+'s. We'll see in a few weeks. Its just that every preview has ranged from good to great (so far) in $oG so its extra disappointing to have one of 2 characters I am a huge fan of getting a dial like this.
And I disagree 100% that Harley is anything but a big bag of suck. I'd love to hear some success stories using her that don't have the 125 point Joker on the team.
