Like "Columbus, Ohio" Columbus? Because they have a pretty big scene there. They even hold a major FG tournament there every year called Seasons Beatings. It used to be held in Momo2.

I don't like playing online, especially with more modern fighting games where some characters' combos are very frame intensive (for those that don't know, a frame is one frame of animation in what the character is doing. Some combos are very difficult and require timing to be precise. Like, 1/60th of a second precise. In some games, the difference between hitting that 1/60th of a second "link" is winning or losing the round/match/tournament).

Wow I just watched a few more videos for this game and I'm blown away by how cool it looks. I'm totally preordering a copy now.

Do you think it's worth it to get the special edition?

I know the convention center has hosted a MLG event, but I always seem to miss it.

Do we know how blocking is going to work in this game yet? Like, is it MK style with the button (which ruins crossups and other mixup shenanigans, which makes me a sad rushdown character player) or the way every other 2D fighter does it with holding back (forward to block crossups)?

Yeah. Captain Cold woulda been boss. I'm glad we didn't get Mr. Freeze (even though I like him) just because we already have too many Bat-characters. It seems most characters have a counterpart in the game (Wonder Woman - Ares. Hal - Sinestro. Nightwing - Deathstroke. Captain Marvel - Black Atom. Superman - Lex/Doomsday. Batman - Joker/Harley Quinn/Cat Woman/Bane.) It would have been nice to see a Flash baddie in there and Snart woulda made a fun character. And I mean, who was asking for Killer Frost? I can't even recall ever reading a comic with her in it. I think I've only ever seen her in the cartoons.

I hear that. Same with me broski. I just like having a beer, smoking a bowl and smashing characters around. This game looks super fun.

I'm a Marvel Zombie, so I can't help but think if only we could get a badass Marvel fighting game just like this. I bet they could use Civil War (or maybe Dark Reign) as a storyline for why all the characters in Marvel are smashing eachother. However, I like me some DC too (just not as much) and will have a blast playing this.





And is it just me, or are some really obvious and important characters missing? I would think Martian Manhunter would be a lock as far as popularity and I'm a little shocked they used Hal instead of John as it would help with diversity and he is well known from the cartoon. Same could be said for the new Blue Beetle as he has been in two recent cartoons, is a non-white character and has a cool set of powers (but maybe I'm just projecting because I love Beetle).

Lobo seems like a fit just because he seems like he's already from a fighting game.

I would love a Booster Gold, but I can't think of how they could make him stand out gameplay-wise. Zatanna would also be a fun character.

I would so put Killer Frost over either of those guys as I loved her in Suicide Squad/Deadshot mini but yeah have to admit she is not that well known as she is a FIRESTORM bad girl for criminey

I think they chose who they did as they are the current JL(Hence Cyborg) (CM is in the backup)

As to how to make Booster Stand out easy. Skeets could be a spidey sense like function (chance to dodge) Blasts while flying

as to if they made a Flash baddie I would have preferred Grodd or Weather Wizard (Mirror Master too but he would be very hard to do)

That's how is it here for the most part, with the exception is that our "smashing characters around" also would normally involve about 20 hours in training mode a week and a tournament every few months with an actual cash prize. Like, for the most past, usually the "casuals" are us just trying out new characters and trying to figure out off the wall matchups (Abel/Gen is a such a weird matchup, you don't even know). Every now and then, someone will want to money match someone (usually $5 in a first to five), and that's when it kinda gets serious, but for the most part, we're all chill, we just take it more seriously when it comes to practicing/getting better.

Blocking is holding back, no button. Most moves are fireball motion.

Yeesh. 20 hours a week on the same game just to "practice"? That sounds more like work than fun.

A lot of the guys around here have fun figuring out new setups and the like. The only reason it's 20 hours a week is because A) Muscle Memory is a fickle mistress and you need to keep that up and B) since we do play in tournaments, we want our area to not look "free."

Wow-they just showed a GL/Supes fight on their Facebook page. It took place in Arkham. The environment hazards are straight out of the Arkham Asylum games. Scarecrow injects you with fear toxin and then rises up out of the room to swat you, and another one has you bumping into Croc, only to get beaten up by Penguin, Riddler, and Two-Face.
