Pulled and played him in our sealed event today, choose to play him
at 300pts. Not to bad a fig, but needs support. His giant size really helps
and I found the running shot trait to me more useful than I first thought, even with just a range of 4. Enjoyed playing him
I've never liked champion :-\ I won him in one of my most epic tournaments ever and played him once. In any game over 300 Nul has the advantage of a resource, plus Champion is a terrible team player. And frankly,at 300 they are both awful.
Nul also has the advantage of being a giant with running shot. He can easily break away to run and shoot champ and if champ takes 3 he loses charge. Ah well, I wouldn't play either figure so that's all the thought I'll give it :)
It begs the question, though, in this fight does champion take Power Gem or Utility Belt?
Champ w the belt could stand a chance...
Pulled him in a sealed 400 point match two nights ago and he just took his hammer and mopped the floor with opponents. I had Tony Stark(50 point) and Aldrich(35 point) as support. Had an opponent hit me for four twice and then Nul returned the favor for 8 clicks of damage(6 damage showing holding a heavy). He took down two different teams that had Dracula. One of them simply had Heimdall for support and Nul promptly RS from four away and hosed dudes entire plan of me stopping within three squares. The other Dracula fight should have had me losing, but Raizo couldn't hit the broad side of a barn and Nul is pretty broad. Won the tournament and this guy and Hela road him with me.
3 stars, really? What a joke. He isn't 5 stars but 3 is just plain stupid for a figure that has these numbers not to mention RS and charge.
3 Stars is average. For a dial that costs 300 points, I would say that IS pretty much average.
The real problem is that people tend to overrate things, so we have a lot of dials in the Units section that are rated above average that shouldn't be.

While I agree that there are a lot of overrated figures in the units section, 350 pt Worldbreaker is rated 4 stars (very overrated). And the fact that this figure is 50 pts less while still packing all the power makes it significantly better than 350 pt Worldbreaker imo. Nul is a solid 4 star figure in my eyes.

Pulled him tonight. Played (at 200) with Heimdall and an Asgardian Troll. Nul rolled awfully all night, but he does have some neat tricks. Running Shot, giant reach, and practically immune to just 1 Outwit is great. Plus if he does get that special power Outwitted... well then he can RS for full damage so that's cool. Together with Heimdall where you can manipulate where your opponent can move their figures (not to mention the +1 defense), there's not much that can stop Nul here. Out of sealed, giving his hammer to any regular Hulk that likely has Regen is going to be pretty darn awesome.
My biggest gripe is the absurd combo of Battle Fury with the traited RS. It's maddening when you land on those clicks. I would have much rather seen Charge as a trait, and a smattering of RS in its place on the non Battle Fury clicks. Would have been the same net result for most of the dial, but would actually allow you to still move and attack at the end. Still pretty good at either point value though, I honestly think he's one of a few figures that actually stands really strong at 300. 4/5
I pulled him in moth 1 FI and used him as a 300 point 1 man army. Took 1st in a tourny of 25 people. I really liked this guy, 12 attack with potential for 7 damage from 2 squares away....I was one shotting most characters. I also loved the fact that he shut down kurth...sorry you can't carry giants now eat this heavy object. His immune to one outwit is great too...all in all he is an absolute beast. Even in his later dials he can still hit you from 9 squares away (RS+4 range) for 5,4, or 3 damage with a decent attack on his whole dial.
I like the piece but in sealed I don't think hes that great at 300. 200 gives you more room to work with but with skadis hammer on someone like Ms. Marvel, for 45 points less you get a better piece. Same with Dr. Strange but for 55 points less. Plus, he gets out-actioned in 300 point games very easily.

No you cannot, and that remains my biggest complaint about the piece (and a large factor in why I traded mine away, I usually never trade something I don't have multiples of). He has Battle Fury for the back half of the dial, which is the majority of the dial at 200 points, so he can't make ranged combat attacks. The traited Running Shot is useless on most of the clicks he doesn't have Charge.
I think it's nothing less than poor planning on this piece, leaving him quite vulnerable with no way to move and attack once he takes pretty much any hit at 200 points or a solid hit or two at 300. The trait becomes mostly wasted, as you're rarely going to want a RS when Charge is showing. You're more likely to do a Charge in almost every circumstance. Swap all instances of RS and Charge with each other and it would be fine, but as is it's a maddening combination of powers when you try to play this guy.

This is a good observation. I still don't have this guy, but if I would play him, I think it would be only if I had another Hulk to revert to as soon as a revert click appeared. Otherwise his non-Mighty wife Red She-hulk is better, for nearly a third of the points, if you want to play a hulk. Maybe if he had traited super-strength or charge, or at least one or both on his dial on every click, then that would help his case.
