I would play this way in tournaments as well. I guess it's just me but I feel this is just a game which I play for fun. It's not like I'm going to lose my multi-million dollar endorsement deals because I lost in the first round of a tournament. Of course this will have its limits, but when it's not clear what they are doing in a particular action, I'll ask.
I agree with you wholeheartedly, didn't mean for this to turn into a major rant ......

Actually, I think I was the one responsible for this one escalating. I'll use the excuse that it was raining really hard in Ottawa this morning and not only did my regular bus not show up but the next one didn't either so I'm not in the best of moods.

If a Judge said I couldn't use B/C/F on an attack because I didn't declare it before the dice-roll, I would have to kick them in the jimmy.
Should I declare everytime when the figure is going to "soar"? Last night my friend and I was in an argurement because I put up OWAW Superman in the "soaring" mode without telling my opponent since I believed that push up the lever up to "soaring" mode. Then my opponent had moved his figures, assuming that my Owaw Superman was hoering. Then He used Nightwing to outwit OWAW Superman. But I stopped him and told him that my OWAW Superman is
soaring therefore he is out of range. My opponent got upset since I didnt declare and he did not checked out on my OWAW superman if he is hovering or soaring. It did dispurt his startegy and moves. I usually declare the wild team ability and whole thing but not soaring and hovering since it do have lever to show where he is (hovering or soaring).
So what you think?

Everyday is special to me. Remember that it is all up to you make it special.
He should have noticed as you moved that little lever up, plus its part of movement so why tell him. Thats like me saying by the way I withing range of things charge.
well, my opinion is that you have to at least let your opponent know you re in soaring mode, because there are so many things going on in a game, i might be watching you, but i might be just thinking and therefore not paying attention...i d rather have a judge rule on this though.
Are you a PbP'r (Play By Poster)? Come and check out www.creationmatrix.com; we've got EVERYTHING.
If I was your opponent I'd probably kick myself for not watching or looking more carefully but if I were you I'd announce it anyways. I try to announce stuff just to make sure my opponent doesn't think I'm cheating them as well as to confirm what I'm doing is within the rules (I don't want to have to go over my last 3 moves to confirm I didn't move too far 3 rounds ago when he/she notices I'm now soaring). Some of the more underhanded players may try to switch from hovering to soaring and vica versa without it costing them one of their movement (ie. have someone move his full 10 squares while also going to soaring) and I'd rather avoid being accused of that. As well, sometimes you may be moving into a large crowd where the flight base may not be visible (hidden behind other figures).

As usual, Maestro is right on here. If you're soaring and your opponent moves into a position that obviously takes for granted your figure is hovering, then you should probably allow them to re-figure their move and visa versa. Likewise if you're moving a figure, you should be counting out the moves anyway 1,2,3,4,5 ("goes soaring"), 6, 7, 8, etc. Just so everything is crystal clear. If your opponent wants to be a jerk about it then let him, he was probably abused as a child and you should feel sorry for him.

Hehe. Well if you would have watched carefully, you would have obviously seen the gestures I was making and could have PLAINLY seen that I was saying 'goes soaring' -6- while moving up the soaring marker on my flying figure base here, thus you would have understood that I meant he was going soaring as I was counting out the number of moves my Martian Manhunter fig has here...
