I'd like to thank Origamiman for teaching me the ways of scarcastic abuse.

I think Village Idiot is more up your alley. But, maybe in a few years, with hard work and practice, you'll be promoted to Court Jester.

It honestly seems pretty straight forward to me. You do the check at movement. Are there Gateway markers? yes. Are you friendly to Spiral? yes. Then you can move through it.
If a friendly character is in marker A and oposing is in marker B, The firendly character need to break away?
Since the squares are adjacents for movement i believe yes i need to breakaway

Eh, I'll settle. Gotta have ambitions!

Really? I think Id just confirmed it plenty. But the power says:

DIMENSIONAL PORTAL: Give Spiral a double power action, remove all Gateway markers from the map and place 2 Gateway markers on the map. Place one in an adjacent square and the other may be placed in any square on the map. Friendly characters may treat squares with Gateway markers as adjacent to each other for movement purposes.
Why wouldn't it work exactly as I said?

Exactly. No fuss no muss.

Since the Trait states that you may consider the squares adjacent, you have the option of not chosing to make them adjacent, and wouldn't have to breakaway. But then you couldn't move through it, either.

Nice catch.
As for the whole "friendly" thing I withdraw. I see that it does indeed follow the Larfleez logic.
When I came on board as RA I brought with me a mission to meet the intent of a power/ability and a firm distaste for exploits or loopholes that circumvented the intention of a rule. That's where the Rules team comes in.
