On Lobo
I think its important to note that the main man has already appeared in a couple of Nu52 comics just like we all remember. This new versions claims to be the 'real' Lobo and is hunting down the other for taking his name and reputation. They have also said that the current art floating around is concept art and not the final thing. So whether that is good news or bad news or doesn't matter is up to each individual.
On Nu52
I tried it, I really did. I got each and every first issue and kept reading the ones that interested me. At first I really enjoyed the new takes on characters that I loved. Then it became apparent that these weren't the characters I loved at all. They were different characters, and the prevailing sentiment from the company and the nu fans seemed to be I was stupid for having interest in those characters in the first place. I am down to only a couple DC books a month. The good stuff from the nu52 could have existed in the old universe. They could of had more success then they've seen with a simple renumberring of all their books to attract new fans with good jumping on points, but not alienate those who had been buying for years or decades. But that's fine as the Avengers have new stuff coming out every week and they have always been my favs.
I hate close mindedness. Nu52 > Pre-52. They did screw somethings up (JLI namely). But for most of it, it has been awesome. The new Justice League, Aquaman and Earth 2 all stand out for me. They are all great books.
Yes, closemindeness...
I gave the NU52 a shot, and at first it was great. Seeing Constantine interact with DC characters was great to see again, they gave Jason Todd a reason to be kept around, and Wonder Woman was finally going somewhere. Then they started juggling creative teams and watering down Wildstorm and Vertigo characters (mainly Apollo and Midnighter) to the point where they're hardly recognizable anymore. Add to that a crossover every three issues of any title that never results in any long term results and it's just all boring.
And that's not just my opinion, but that of the writers as well. It seems like there's at least one that leaves DC every week because they don't care for anything they're doing anymore.
The new 52 titles aren't bad, it's just the creators that DC has to get for these books, because they've burned a lot of bridges over their history with better creators.
I was initially upset over Lobo, but knowing the pool of DC creative talent keeps recycling for younger, less experienced talent, I'm not surprised. And like someone said, it fits more with his original appearance.
If it weren't for his creator, Keith Giffen, still writing stories for DC, I'd have less love for DC outside of Legion of Super-Heroes.

See, no offense, but I don't get this. The majority of the characters in the DCU have kept the same character traits (flaws, strengths, etc.) and even kept most of the same history. There have indeed been some characters who have had their histories revised - like Wonder Woman, for example - but her new history is great, and she is still the same strong, loving, powerful woman she was before.
Now, if you were a big Titans fan previously, I can see why you would be mad - Superboy is almost all new, as is Wondergirl. And, of course, Wally and Donna fans are still raging. But, IMO, DC stayed faithful to the personalities of most of their characters, even if they did retcon some (or in some cases, all) of those characters' history.

I'm not accusing you of telling tall tales, but do you have a source for that? I'm interested in reading that.

1 a week is a gross exaggeration, but there have been several creators that jumped ship because of how terrible things were being run. They were being asked to do lots of re-writes, things were being changed without their knowledge. I think it was George Perez that said at one point he told them not to put his name on the comic because he didn't write the end result, or something to that effect.
There are also stories of Grant Morrison getting carte blanch and doing whatever he wants, but no editors communicating his precedents with other Superman writers, leading to contradictions.

Ya, I should have said that. I am a huge Titans fan. Pretty much any character connected with the Titans was completely re done or just forgotten about. Superboy is my favorite DC character. His title is not so bad anymore now that Lobdell is off it.

I'll have to check out Superboy now then. Lobdell is the WORST. I can't understand why DC keeps letting him write stuff.
I was just starting to sift through the Nu52 for something worth reading. I was diehard DC until Morrison got his mitts on Batman and Final Crisis.
I would recommend the following:
1. Batman: Incredible month to month. Snyder is nailing it.
2. Red Hood and the Outlaws: Was bad at first when Lobdell was on it (see above) but has been great since Tyion (sp?) took it over
3. Aquaman
4. Wonder Woman
5. Batman: The Dark Knight: Very dark and psychological takes on Batman's villians
6. Batwoman
7. Flash
8. JUstice League
9. JLA
10. Trinity of Sin: Pandora
11. Trinity of Sin: Phantom Stranger
12. Earth 2
I heard Animal Man, Swamp Thing and Dial H are all good too, but I haven't been reading them. Superman Unchained is not bad too.
