Picard 6 +1
Interphase Generator 3 +1
Cheat Death 5 +1
Sulu 3+1

Meaning do I have the points right? I doubt I would use this, our local scene is only 5 guys, and nobody has been using out of faction stuff. Just been thinking outside the box, and diving into the "meta" of AW to try and see what some of the really crazy stuff looks like.

You still have to pay +1 on both of Kirk's Cheat Deaths since they are Federation cards on a Klingon ship. His ability doesn't work around the faction penalties.
Plus, I'd use Drex instead of Tactical Officer for this build. Tactical Officer is great, but you have to have Target Locks (which is tougher to pull off if you're facing cloaked ships), where Drex can give you a really good alpha strike.
I used a similar fleet for my OP2, except instead of Kirk and all the Cheat Deaths, I had Koloth, a science vessel with Sulu, and my big ships were just generic Vor'Chas.
Gulyadkin Victims List: Spider-Man (ASM 001b), Green Goblin (M10A 004).
Black Panther R (IC) Mjolnir Attempts: 2 for 2! HE IS WORTHY!

Ahhh. So just make the 2nd ship the generic Vorcha for 26 then right?
I wonder if we'll get a crew or tech card that allows you to target lock cloaked ships? A Dominion officer would seem ideal for that, and it would certainly reign in the cloaking dominance.

Well, in DS9, the Dominion did have scanners that could sniff out cloaked ships, but only when those cloaked ships were moved around a lot if I recall. Something like....may target lock cloaked ships with Auxiliary power tokens or "if they performed a white or red maneuver this turn" maybe. We'll have to see, it sort of feels like they're already moving on to the Gamma Quadrant races early next year.

I could see something along the lines of needing to be within 1 range to do a Target lock on a Cloaked ship for an Aux Power Token.
As far as building, so far 2 ship builds aren't as powerful as 3 ship builds. The extra ship does really help. That should change eventually just right now the 2 ships aren't as powerful not saying you won't win mind you, just you'll have a little bit more trouble doing so.
Well I was able to play a test game with another friend of mine today for month 3, I went with
Defiant
Picard
Spock
Sulu
Cloak
Praetus
Donatra
Cloaked Mines
Brel
Martok (Vorcha)
Advanced Weapon System
Command Tokens
100 Even
Friend
USS Defiant
Sisko
Cloak
Defiant
Riker
Brel
Martok (Brel)
He had Torpedo's on the ships Faction Specific
100 Even as well
Elite Attack Die
I messed up and cloaked everyone except Defiant at first because i didn't get them close enough to the planet. He was able to get the lead on the planet. I was able to get off some great shots at first on his ships and my cloaked mines did make a difference.
He was able to one shot my Brel with his Brel because rolling 6 defense dice and getting ZERO Evades hurt hehehe.
I'm going to redo my team to make it a little more versatile, I realized after I cloaked I wouldn't be able to beam down to the planet, so I should have tried something different with my ships.
I was able to get the first shots off but he had the planet. After that though I was able to get onto the planet and then neither had it at the end.
Since you have to disable your shields I almost feel like running a fleet that doesn't have shield to begin with and just take the planet as fast as possible then start taking out the ships, not sure if this would work or not.
Hey guys, so I just bought the starter set two days ago, and am itching to play some of the OP events which look like fun. Kind of bummed I missed out on a shot at the Ferengi D'Kora cruiser, they've been my favorite ST race since I was a kid
Anyways! I don't have the funds to get any expansion packs, at least for a little while, but want to give the Month 3 scenario a shot. I would tend to label myself more of a "theme-y" player than competitive, but unfortunately the starter set doesn't provide a ton of options for a 100 point fleet. This is what I came up with, though, tell me what you think:
Klingon Vor'Cha Class (26)
Generic Klingon Captain
Worf (3+1)
99 points
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
The justification for the team would be:
Picard and the crew of the Enterprise-D receive a subspace message from the Federation requesting their immediate assistance at AR-558, noting the need for relief for the ground troops there. En route to AR-558, the Enterprise-D encountered a Romulan Warbird adrift in space, badly damaged and with her captain dead after an attack by Cardassian ships. Picard and a contingent of Federation crew transported to the Warbird to help, and in exchange the Romulan crew agreed to assist in the aide of AR-558 (hoping to gather intelligence on the Federation and Dominion in the process). Picard elected to remain at the helm of the Romulan ship, appointing a new acting captain on the Enterprise (Riker was off wasting time on Risa). In an effort to bring more firepower, should they meet Dominion resistance, Worf contacted a Klingon cruiser captained by a retainer of the Mogh family, and transported aboard to act as a Federation-Klingon liason for the duration of the encounter.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
It seems like this scenario would favor numbers, so I tried to avoid loading up on upgrades for any one ship to squeeze all three in. I figure the main role of the D'Deridex will be to beam troops and mines down to AR-558's surface, cloaking when necessary to avoid damage. Meanwhile, the Galaxy and Vor'Cha will try to defend Picard and press the attack on enemy ships. Both are fairly no-frills offensive, in terms of their upgrades, but I was torn between the mines and torpedoes for the Galaxy class.
I know Picard is expensive, but given the low command rating on my other captains it seems like it would be good to have someone else with a better response time in there. He also provides a lot of added flexibility to the D'Deridex, which should be useful in this scenario. I suppose, however, that I could drop the Quantum Singularity, which would free up some points for upgrades on the other ships.

I think having Picard on the ship you are planning to attack on the planet with is a waste personally. You really want to have the ships defending that ship pack more punch, so if Picard was on the Vor'cha instead, you'd have two strong attacks that can do Battle Stations if you need it.
Then maybe drop the Singularity for Counter Attack on Picard, or put Riker on the Enterprise.

I highly recommend making room to get Enterprise D over the generic Galaxy, that turret makes a huge difference.
First round was against a Klingon force. He had Ch'Tang, a Vor'Cha with Khan, and a Negh'Var with Martok I think. I don't recall who was captain of the Ch'Tang. We raced for the planet and each dropped a few troops before mixing it up. I lost the Defiant, but my other two ships were in good shape and had inflicted some decent damage when we ran out of time. His ground troops were winning, but I still had a lone hold-out on the planet, so nobody won the surface.
Round 2 I had the Bye so I played the judge. We just played a regular game, not the OP. He had a similar build to mine, but with Reliant instead of the Vor'cha. We charged at each other and I managed to take out the Reliant and cripple his Defiant, while my Enterprise fell. That's as far as we got, because the OP game that was going on was over really fast that round, which didn't bode well for how my last round would go.
Round 3 was against a Dominion fleet: A Galor with a generic captain, A Galor with Picard, and a Breen ship with Donatra. We raced for the planet and beamed down troops, then he planted 3 cloaked mines around the planet. I struggled to get through them, losing the Defiant in the process. I took a few pot shots along the way, but didn't do anything but take out shields. He had a luxury of actions while my fleet floundered in the mine fields, so his troops overwhelmed mine and took the planet without too much trouble.
I had a good time, though I totally get the calls to make the cloaked mines unique. They're ridiculous. I frequently forgot Sisko's ability, actually frequently forgot the re-roll actions (battlestations) quite a bit.
My only complaint was generally how long the whole thing took. There were only 3 of us, but I was in the store a solid 5 hours. There's just so much stuff to gather up and sort every time you have to get up and change opponents. I need to figure out a better way to get everything organized for myself.
I got the whole batch of participation prizes for the whole OP event up to this point, which is pretty awesome. I also got the fellowship ship (for the dubious honor of rolling the most "critical misses" - all blanks).
While I was there I snagged a D7, Reliant, and Apnex. More build options!

Congrats and glad you had a fun time!!
Some places I go to have "lunch trays" that make it a little easier to transport, I also have one section of my box set for just templates and tokens. It does take a bit to move around so that I can definitely see.
Some people use sheet or two of card holders (the baseball/tcg) to hold their cards in so they don't get all spread out.
I'm definitely going to get card holders. I may also put all my tokens into a smaller box, with each type in a different slot. I may get one of those fancy clix trays, which I think will be handy for both games.
Remembering now how long it took to perfect the HeroClix storage and transport. :P
