I don't remember the last time we had any kind of discussion like this or an article like this in ages, so I just wanted to have a something on the competitive level to discuss, and have fun at the same time. I agree, the metagame right now looks very vibrant and diverse, all thanks to the Watchlist and the multitude of options. It's good for the game.
Regarding Shi'ar, it could be good, who knows? Maybe someone will chance it, but the 10 ATK hurts a bit, like Terman8er said. Anyone else have some predictions?
From what I've read we have:
Shi'ar TB
Hellfire Club TB
Blue Beetle teams
Splitlip/Armor teams (specifically)
I do. Surprisingly, it was not all that long ago. In the time since then a lot has changed though.
It's nice to dream about an open field though. I really hope that it bears out!

Shi'ar TB

Splitlip/Armor teams (specifically)
Brotherhood TB at 250
switch at 50
132-60 matches, 20 tourney wins (67-100) 2013
223-112 matches, 31 tourney wins 2012,Arcadia Grand prix runner up 2012,Arcadia Grand prix Runner up 2013
ROC West Coast Winner Co-Main Event 2013
This definitely could win it, but I think it's chances die the longer the tournament lasts. You start approaching 5 rounds, I think someone will eventually one shot it.
I played the Shi'ar base in vegas, that 10 really really hurts particularly against 18 defense which isn't hard to find now a days, but not only the base only has a 17 def with hammers laying around even some one with a base 9 attack only needs to roll a 6 to crack that.
Regarding the blue beetle, still a very solid piece but the nerf to prob really hit him hard. Only being able to prob 6 away makes it so a good deal of the time the people attacking him are out of his prob range.
You didn't have any luck pulling off warstar? He has an 11 attack and the TB prob to back it up.
Was perfect for me I'm a HUGE Iron man fan, so I was happy that I could make that work. Won map every round but 2 and I only theme team probed once but it was out of a critical miss that was for game.
