But I'm the guy who 7/8 times has rolled a 1 on the first turn of the game with the penguin. And that 8th game, I rolled the 6, and then the 1.

so if malekith hits absorbing man, does he still get his defense? or does he just take the smack?

URU METAL: When Absorbing Man is dealt damage or healed, roll a d6. Absorbing Man ignores the damage dealt or healed unless it is the same as the result of the d6. This power can't be countered or ignored.

THE AETHER AND I ARE ONE: Characters hit by an attack from Malekith can't use defense powers until their next turn.

Hit happens before damage and can't use is not the same as countered or ignored.

The power is in Absorbing Man's defense slot, and Malekith ignores Defense powers, so Absorbing Man is taking that hit. And clocking in at 5 clicks, he may well be one-shotted.

Iron Paladin, Outback Hulk, and somebody else who I don't remember have the same ability, and will also slice through Abs abs.

I apologize if this has been asked already, but would the following scenario work?

On a team with Absorbing Man LE and Book of the Skull;

I Tk Absorbing Man out to 5 Squares away from my starting area. The squares adjacent to him have 1 Heavy Object and 1 Light Object. I give one of my other figs a Power Action to drop a hammer in Absorbing Man's square. I Give Absorbing Man a Power Action to pick up the hammer and at the same time activating his absorption power on the two objects.

Would I get to have the hammer and both objects on his card?

as the current wording stands yes.

Wow, I wouldn't have thought that he could absorb two objects at once, but that's a nice little addition.

I played him over the weekend against a friend and with a heavy object on his card, he was just a tank -- the only time he took damage was when my friend used the SI Dr. Strange to Incapacitate him when he had an action token, so he took the push.

His only weakness really seems to be incap, other than figures that can take out defense powers.
