I just hope this means that Chris can start trolling again.
I put all my productive ideas and opinions into the other thread, but if this turns out to be true, it's a good enough positive that any other consequences don't matter.

I keep thinking the PG and Rules inquiries should be rolled into an online knowledge base, which would allow the Deputies to update it whenever a novel question and/or repetitions of the same question emerge.
Tag it with appropriate metadata, make it searchable, make a minimal interface so it's easily used on mobile devices...
If posts here are no longer official, it will just go back to the way it was before. You didn't need to have a special colored background to be correct; a correct answer is a correct answer regardless of who gives it.
Yes and no. It is good that it opens up more people to answer questions.
However, the questions have changed.
Pre-special powers, it was much easier to answer questions because there were a lot fewer power interactions. For example, "Does Charge work with CCE" or "Does RS work with PW?" If somebody understands the various types of actions, they can answer these questions.
The problem is that as more power interactions have been created, the types of questions have changed. the questions really come down to "What was the intent?" A knowledgeable judge doesn't know the answer the answer to that question. So instead of having one place where those questions can be answered, the question is going to have to be answered multiple times and there will be even less consistency.
Ultimately, we can't go back to the way it was before because the questions are not like they were before.
Yea, the inability for EVERYONE to have access to the actual literal language and be sure that it's legit is problematic. We should get in the habit of having 2 people send the same question and post the responses. Then we can compare answers and know that the answers are legit and not shenanigans.

Some of us already do this

So the years between LoSH starter and WoS (RDs became a thing between Hammer of Thor and Web of Spider-Man) were a complete waste of time on this board?
Special powers did make things more complicated, yes. But we got along just fine for quite a while even after specials became a thing. I think we'll survive
Does anyone else find it hilarious that this announcement is posted to WizKidsgames.com and not Heroclix.com?
I did just notice that it isn't on the heroclix.com main page. I never go directly to wizkidsgames.com. It seems like a ####ty move to not even advertise the change on heroclix.com.

I'm not saying that there still isn't a need and the forums. Some players have gotten too reliant on Oranges for everything. If a player can't accept why RS and PW work together but Charge and CCE don't from anyone, they have a problem. I also like that this reinforces the Judges role at a local venue, that right or wrong they have final say at the event.
It seems to me though that the time between LoSH and WoS was the reason the Oranges were established. The problems with special powers were becoming increasingly difficult to answer as special powers became increasingly complex, so more authoritative answers were needed. What started as basic power combinations (Character X has Charge, Flurry, and L/C) became much bigger exceptions to established rules (When this character would be KO'd...)
I'm not advocating for the return of the Oranges per se, but it seems that there needs to be something that makes the answers to questions available to everyone.
Maybe that's coming, like a FAQ. It just seems weird that there was no mention of it in the announcement. People have already been speculating about Oranges, so more information would have been useful.
You are right in that we will survive, but it still doesn't feel like the most efficient way to address rules questions.
