So I did some half **** reviews. Didn't do a lot of the Commons and even wasn't that detailed because you aren't as 'stuck' with them as you are with Uncommon and rares.

Anyway I'll copy and pste my thoughts:




As an add on: seriously Recorder is AMAZING Tie UP. Remmeber he needs LoF to the character being ATTACKEd to Port next to the ATTACker...so he can tie up a long range attacker without having to move....

Suddenly that adjacent outwit doesn't seem so bad.



I got crap for not including Dire Wraiths....yeah they're Great if it's all you ahve but between Mantis and Wraith...for one point more I'm always going for Mantis.

Don't hate the Raptors for their points.


Honestly the 'dud' of the Commons for Me is Drax...for their points I even dig the Regellians or the Kree private.

Thank you so much for doing this. I realized earlier this much how I have come to depend on this article each set release.

That is probably the fault of the dice, not because of his dial.

Figs should be judged on the projected usefulness of their dial and points cost,
not any games where the dice were unexpectantly cruel.

Eh I can see it based on his attack kind of being stuck at 10. Paired with Aleta he can be bonkers good because he has options but standalone...he has tricks...he's just not exactly going to hit the higher defenses in this set...

Trust me, it was not dice. It was opponents who knew how to tackle his weaknesses (defense track. His damage falters quickly.

Pulling Recorder #451 and Iron Man is a long shot, but Mantis is definitely the star of the show.

Yeah that's like the only circumstance I can see running Tony...


Abd yeah mantis is hella MVP. Turns aN OK piece like Angela to a teleporting death macihine or victory into a super slingshot that can turn into a very monile cannon

Nice review. The only thing I think you really missed the mark on was the Dire Wraith Queen. This figure is pretty nasty if played with some finesse. In a set that had a lot of running shot, range and damage reducers giving a figure that has Stealth, SC ++, prob and psy blast on every click w a 3 damage all the way down and 6 range (possibly 7 with the perplex) one shield was way off.

There are so many taxis (I played one in sealed with a Raptor taxi) she was phenomenal. This fig is an easy 2 shielder, possibly 3 and shouldn't be overlooked because it doesn't begin with a move and attack ability.

I do think Major Victory deserves his high rating, wasn't he part of the losing finalists team at DragonCon as well?, so if he is good enough in constructed then surely he is worth the risk in sealed.

Also with Ikon @150pts you probably realise this but that damage SP also can trigger if you attack with someone else first (with a 4 damage) and plan to attack with Ikon afterwards. That way you have a decent chance of attacking twice a turn. Not sure how many characters have a starting 4 damage in the set but it would certainly be worth trying to partner her with one if possible.

True Dat. Attack someone with a Big baddie. Smack a character with Ikon. Nix their Powers...then maybe OUtwit..or just attack with a normal attack with Ikon with P/PB.

Great article, saturnflight. I always look forward to this series when a new set comes out. I do have one nit-pick though. Your dial for Ikon does not have the Indomitable symbol on defense. My figure/card do have it; don't know if that would have impacted your rating but I figured I would mention it.

Makes a Huge difference...as it means she's a lean mean attacking machine...

I rated her for Indomitable. I'm surprised it's not showing.
