"Control the coinage and the courts — let the rabble have the rest." Thus the Padishah Emperor advises you. And he tells you; "If you want profits, you must rule." There is truth in these words, but I ask myself: "Who are the rabble and who are the ruled?"

Best thing about this set, IMO, is the staggering amount of generics. I bought five boosters yesterday, and got six SHIELD generics and one Hydra. That's NUTS for troop building, and stands as a decent reason to grab a pack if you have the itch.
Longest-Reigning Drunken HeroClix Champion - anyone got a liver?

My favorite part of this set is that there are so many low costing pieces that having 5 figures on a 300 point sealed event seems entirely possible. Out of the three packs I opened yesterday, I think only 1 of the 15 figures was over 100 points. So awesome.

Agreed. I normally get a case, but because 1a-8a are all generics, plus a ton of uncommon generics, I added an extra brick. That plus the hulkbuster, desirable chases for me, and ID cards add a lot to a case.
I always operate on the expected number of 'good' pulls from a booster.
A case of Flash yielded:
~6 SRS
~1 Prime
~1 chase
A case of Nick Fury
~ 1 chase
~ 1 Prime
~ 6 Srs
~ 3 Hulkbusters parts
~ 5 ID Cards
And that is before you consider the value of doubles in NFAS is much higher than flash

This too. Finding out Hulkbuster parts took the place of figures turned me off to buying boosters as well. When I buy a five figure booster I want five figures.
Chases shouldn't be "guaranteed" they should be chased. I bought a brick of superman and the Legion and all I pulled was prime nigma, I made due with what I got. If you want guarantees, buy the chase figures directly. As it stands I have a feeling you would feel the same had you pulled the chase goliath (basically worthless). Just my 2 cents, cheers

You are getting 5 figures. A hulkbuster part is a figure. It can be played independent of the rest of the pieces. And really, I understand people don't play this game to make money, but why would you prefer to get a .25c common over a $5 dollar item.
Back when a booster actually held value, I understood the argument, but not that secondary market prices are rock bottom, I don't get it.

With the added bonus of legitimately being able to say "I'd trade my left arm for a Dr. Demonicus."
I bought a case for the first time in like 8 sets, and I haven't even opened it yet and I regret it...
Do you like the source material? I bought a case and don't regret a thing. Love me some Hydra and Shield goons. That doesn't mean I'm going to buy a case for every set, though. It's about making judgement calls. I knew there would be a ton of generics, so I went for the whole case.

People are good about reporting the frequency of stuff here, if you can hold off until release to buy the brick/cases. And yeah, the fewer number of chases, the lower the ratio. 7 chases: 1 per brick; 5: 1 per case; Flash was the lowest it's been in a while.

Except it's a relatively good special object, and it's only taking the spot of a common, so this means a little less.

It has not been economical to purchase a brick or case for a long time. Only time it is a good idea to purchase a brick is if you want the majority of commons and uncommons, then the SRs and chases are icing on the cake, but it is never a good investment to purchase a brick or case for SRs or chase; to easy to pull the figures you are not wanting and thus lose money.
I only purchase blind boosters on occasion to support my venue, but I avoid doing so as much as possible; typically I try to purchase fast forces and non-clix stuff from the venue while paying to play in tournaments. Much cheaper to purchase figures you want on the secondary market as the prices go down. Heck, HulkBuster complete is selling at less than $75 now, so I can easily see it dropping below $50 before long.

I believe it is misuse of the term figure.
In HeroClix "figure" means the sculpt alone. While the rulebook references the sculpt in reference to being a representation of a personality, from a certain perspective you could probably say that the sculpted representation of any game element is a figure. By that view, yes, you are still getting a booster with five figures in it.
The term people probably want to be using is "character" here. If you get a Build-A-Clix part, then you are not getting a booster with five characters in it.

So this is going to be a regular thing now? Mods should just put up a preemptive set complaint thread at each new release.
Since the introduction of primes, we have known that a brick will likely have a prime or a chase and MAYBE both if you're lucky. The funny thing about buying blind is that, well, it's blind. It's a gamble. There's no guarantee that you'll get what you want, so complaining about it isn't really going to do much.
I love the thrill of opening packs and will probably buy blind for a long time, even though I totally get the logic of going straight to the second market.
I don't typically buy full bricks though (AVAS being an exception, because I was offered a really good deal). When a new set I like comes out, I'll buy an initial burst of 6-7 boosters and then, depending how much I like the set, I'll buy 2-3 more boosters every time I'm around a store with stock for a while. That way, when I get SRs/chases/primes, I feel extra lucky and if I don't, well I knew going into it the odds weren't in my favor, so I'm not as disappointed as I would be as if I had a "dud brick".
I bought 1 brick of AOS and pulled the SR and U Primes and the Hulkbuster Torso. No chases.
There is only one chase I was interested in was the Avengers Skycycle because it is iconic with Hawkeye who is my favorite Avenger.
