Alright, folks. Every day, I am going to be giving you another reason why Pokemon fails so thoroughly, so entirely, as to ruin the entire premise, the entire game, and the entire series. Sounds like fun!
Day 1: Memorable Quotes
The game series and the television show have nearly no memorable quotes. Instead, each pokemon can only quote their own name, and the protagonist merely says generic anime garble like:
"We can do it! I believe in you!"
Or
"I'm going to try my best!"
Stuff like that. The best quotes are from team rocket: 'Blasting off again!" and "prepare for trouble - AND MAKE IT DOUBLE!" So, the villains are the only ones with the memorable lines.

Grumpy old man alert.
I'm young enough to have been a little into it when it first came out. The games are pretty addictive RPGs. I did recently try to watch an episode of the show when I noticed it on Netflix and it was pretty close to unwatchable.

I tell myself that I want to rewatch the series as an adult, but I find myself shutting off Netflix halfway through the episode that I start because it is so hard to sit through.
There's a list on the net that pares down the non-story episodes into a more palatable watch. Essentially it's the episodes where ash catches a Pokemon, evolves a Pokemon, or a gym battle.
Why do I have a feeling you are setting yourself up for a night one kill with that kind of presumption lol
but if you do keep this up I hope you touch on the rather strong point the movie touched on...and then erased from everyones mind as it would have killed the show lol
Yes their quotes were lame...but then again What are Mario's most famous quotes...
"It's Me Mario"
"The Princess is in another castle"
and
"I'm a mindless Italian Stereotype that is about the mafia.....Oh wait I mean...Look a Monkey"
(see if anyone gets that ref)

NO SANTA LEFT BEHIND
Not Just Another Empty Political Slogan
Here is the thing...did you watch an epsidoe as a kid?? You did?? Good then you have watched every episode since...Ash is still doing the same thing...team Rocket is still (their ineptitude belongs in a Hall of Fame at this point and the cost of their operations?? Giovanni and Meowth clearly have something going on on the side to justify this subsidization)

I watched the first two seasons of the show as a kid, and I remember liking them a lot then... but I wouldn't sit down and watch it now. Some things are best left to nostalgia.
The games, though, that's where its at. I'll probably be playing them until I go blind.

Okay, okay, I see how it is. Thanks for the support, bro....

You forgot his "Woo-hoo" ever so fondly remembered from Super Mario 64

I assume the monkey reference is to Mario's first appearance in Donkey Kong. Is that what you were looking for, or something more specific?
