Really? Loony Tunes? This is just insulting. But it's at least nice to see the Disco Legion again, even if they have Invisible Kid II with them, who wasn't even a member yet. And they have Ayla Ranzz in her 80's Lightning Lass costume, which she didn't have at that time.
It's part series of crossover one shots that started last month, like Adam Strange/Future Quest, Green Lantern/Space Ghost, Suicide Squad/Banana Splits, Booster Gold/Flintstones, and the upcoming Wonder Woman/Tazmanian Devil, Lobo/Road Runner, Jonah Hex/Yosemite Sam, Martian Manunter/Marvin the Martian, and Batman/Elmer Fudd.
So it's insulting to have the Legion included in a line-wide initiative?

When it comes to Superman and Batman, Grant Morrison is nothing but a 50's cover band in a 70's psychedelic funk style.

Well for one I wasn't a where of that because I don't really keep up with modern comics, so if my comment offended you I'm sorry. But I just think it's a little sad that the Legion, who have no series of their own, is just a tag along in a Loony Tunes comic. And I think my main problem though is the inconsistencies with the costumes and the inclusion of a character that wasn't a member at the time this legion appears to be from.

It's a variant cover that has nothing to do with the actual story. Just the artist's overall impression.
And frankly, I'm pretty tired of complaints about modern comics from people who "don't really keep up with modern comics." Uneducated opinions count for nothing.
Yes, the Legion's gotten a crap deal since their New 52 series was cancelled. Guess what? The JSA's had it 100% worse. And they're not even included in the Looney Tunes one-shots. Hell, I'd at least have expected them to team up with Granny and Tweety.

Then that artist needs to do some research on the Legion first before doing that, he's liable to offend crazy people like me.

Again I apologize if I offended you, I just don't like my favorite comic being a tag along in a Loony Tunes story regardless of the context of the situation. And for the record I do keep up with modern Legion stuff, I just haven't payed attention recently because they got cancelled(though with the way they were written when it happened, I can understand why they did).

And I never said they had it worse then the JSA, but does that mean I'm not supposed to be disappointed that the Legion is getting a bad deal? No.

Oh well, my guess is that their just throwing out Legion crossovers to see what kind of reaction they get before they give them their own series again. Now I'm just wondering when their going to put the Archie Legion in Archie comics.
That seems to be costume-appropriate for the early Giffen run.

Timber Wolf did not have his pointy haired ''Eddie Munster'' look and Saturn Girl no longer had her Pink Bikini costume when the second Invisible Kid joined. Nor did Alya have that Lightning Lass costume(which is supposed to have leggings) and Brainy did not have long hair.
You're right-- I thought she has the pink outfit through IKII's joining, but lost it only just shortly before. It's all from a relatively small period of time (apart of Lightning Lass, who was still Light Lass for a while).
In other words, it's not some huge anachronism, but a small one.
But the question is: Which is worse, the costume anachronisms in the Bugs Bunny team-up or the anachronisms in the Batman '66 teamup (which features both Shadow Lass and Ferro Lad)?
I think that the Shadow Lass/Ferro Lad issue is a bit worse, since Ferro Lad died in the first Fatal Five story and Shadow Lass didn't appear until the second Fatal Five story.

Well putting in Invisible Kid II before his time is really kind of on the same plane as that as far as continuity goes. Really though all this does is show us how little these team ups care about Legion continuity, which raises the question: are these supposed to exist within the continuity of the original legion? Or are these meant to be a separate thing all together?

I doubt any of these are supposed to be in continuity. I think they're supposed to be humorous tongue-in-cheek stories and absolutely nothing more, like when Superman met the Nestle Quik bunny.
Oh, and while we're talking about the original Legion and their recent appearances, we could also talk about Convergence (since I think that was the most recent appearance of the original Legion in an actual story) which also had its share of continuity mistakes.
I think the current crop of DC writers don't have any appreciation of continuity (which is probably why they're very glad that there is no continuity anymore, after the new52 and also after Rebirth). They're not detail-oriented (which I personally think is the most important quality any writer can have), so they probably don't care.
But I'm still mad about the Wonder Woman story-- from before Convergence, when DC was putting out a bunch of comics celebrating the various versions of their characters from different decades-- when the Bronze Age (or maybe Silver Age) Wonder Woman (with powers) was forced to use a parachute to get down from a plane to the ground. I assume the writer didn't know she could glide on air currents.

I haven't been able to read the Legion's appearance in Convergence, I've always meant to but couldn't ever find the issue by itself.
The worst part about this whole thing, at least for me, is how little Timber Wolf has shown up in these things. Out of all the legionnaires we've seen in these, he's usually not one of them. While, ironically, Lightning Lass is all over the place even though she's the one Wizkids still refuses to clix.

Well, there are two issues, just so you know.
And Timber Wolf is mentioned in this Convergence story, even if not seen.
Spoiler (Click in box to read)
Our heroes are Superboy, Ultra Boy, Lightning Lass, Sun Boy, Invisible Kid II, Brainiac 5, Shadow Lass, and Colossal Boy.
Like all the Convergence characters, they've lost their powers. Colossal Boy's stuck as a giant. But their flight rings still work.
Wildfire was there too, but as soon as everybody lost their powers, he just faded away. His costume hangs next to the statue of Ferro Lad. Ferro Lad is in his usual costume with a black mask, brown shirt, bare arms, black wristbands, bare neck, and black leggings. Those are his usual colors, right?
Lightning Lass is starting to have romantic feelings for Superboy. (This is when she was a lesbian, right?) And here's where it gets really weird. She talks to Superboy about Timber Wolf. Here's what she says:
Do you know what he said to me? His last words? Timber Wolf. My Ex. "I'm going walkabout, Ayla," he said. "I need my space, my time alone. You know how I am." And then he flew away, like he always does to Alaska or the Sahara, or maybe the Sorcerer's World, for all I know. I knew it was over... I've known for a long time. But you know what's funny? I still always thought I'd see him again. One more time.
Yeah... that's not how their breakup happened. She decided to leave the Legion and told him he could come with her or not. He decided to stay with the Legion and that was the end of their relationship. And then, once she came back, she started a relationship with Salu. So, yeah, that whole speech was really disconcerting.
But the thing that really bothered me was that they keep coloring Ultra Boy's green dragon chest logo yellow. It's not yellow! And they did that on the Bugs Bunny cover too. Sigh.

Wow that's ALOT of inconsistencies. Honestly I don't really want to read it anymore in light of all that so, thanks for the heads up.
Since this seems to have become a thread for mentioning new appearances of the Legion of Super-Heroes, apparently Phantom Girl will be appearing again soon.
(Note: We have no confirmation that it is *the* Phantom Girl. You know how DC is. They once had a Persuader in the Suicide Squad who had an axe that could cut through anything... who was completely unrelated to the Persuader from the Legion's timeline who had an axe that could cut through anything... or the girl Persuader from Teen Titans who had an axe that could cut through anything.)
But it's probably *the* Phantom Girl as she is one of four members of a new superhero group, made up of pre-existing superheroes. This group is called The Terrifics. Their membership includes:
(1) Phantom Girl, token female with an inoffensive power.
(2) Metamorpho, a guy irrevocably turned into a monster with a heart of gold
(3) Plastic Man, the stretchy guy.
(4) Mr. Terrific, a black superhero using the name of a white superhero.*
The Terrific Four! I mean... "The Terrifics!"
*Okay, that's a bit of a stretch but there doesn't otherwise seem to be a Human Torch analogue, and Mr T is probably more of the Reed Richards analogue due to intelligence being his main defining characteristic.

Honestly, DC putting more quirky teams together from existing characters is something I definitely want to see. Beats the heck out of the standard permutations of JLA or Titans rosters.
