Starting question:
1. What standards would you suggest for a day 1 lynch, even if you are anti day 1 lynches?
2. What standards (other than guy reads) would you reject for a day 1 lynch?
I'm keeping track of answers on a spreadsheet. Your reluctance or ignore of this question is marked on my scum indicator.
1. Someone has to do something really obvious or damning, almost an OMAC moment for me to be on board for a D1 lynch. Since we've got plurality the threshold is lower for a lynch and that's something to keep in mind with our D1 votes.
2. I won't lynch a silent player day 1. I'm very hesitant to lynch someone who was the target of a random pressure train on day 1. I'm more inclined to go after the person who starts that train, especially given the voting structure.

I agree. In a plurality voting game (which I think I've only played one) I think those who introduce pressure should be prepared to claim something as well.
Nice, new game feel. These games always popped at bad times for me, so it's a little bittersweet now that the game has started, but I'm excited to get underway.

So this is the thing you're doing, aggressive ultimatums on day 0?
As to the first part, plurality means likely someone will be offed day one. Standards for me to personally vote for someone will be hard to define. I still haven't voted for a day 1 lynch even with plurality. I've never seen a day 1 lynch that lynches scum, but at the same time a day 1 lynch is very important to give context for the rest of the game. So while I don't think I'll push for a day 1 lynch, It's information.
2. None really, if someone has a reason to think someone needs to be lynched then it's all legal, I guess.
I think the distinction between low posters and non-committal posting is even more interesting with this set up. Racing to level up means that it's another layer of subtext that we'll have to add to our reads. In general a large amount of context is given a pass, here we'll have to actually wade through and part of the debate will be quality over quantity.
Of course this post itself is needlessly loquacious and likely serves no particular porpoise (His name is Barry.
I'm not a fan of Day 1 lynches at all, but that's mostly because it seems completely unfair to somebody who gets a character that they never actually get the chance to play. Call me Mr. Terrific, but I'm interested in Fair Play.
That said, in a game with multiple characters or multiple life possibilities like this, it takes the sting out of that a bit. They may lose a character but don't have to completely leave the game.
The whole 'luck of the draw' pressure on Day 1 I guess should be expected to get a little information in order to stave off the bum rush. With a Day 0, I'm also more inclined to be fine with going after low posters.
While it sucks getting lynched day 1, day one pressures and day 1 lynches offer more info than a day 1 nothing. Maybe I just prefer a more aggressive play style, but that's how I feel about it.
If you come into a mafia game thinking that you're not going to die, you're playing the wrong game :P

Sure, but there's 'not going to die' and 'not going to die without ever having played.'

Sure, but some people's version of "playing" seems to be doing nothing until they're in the last 25% and are obligated to do so. All the while they claim "what the heck is going on" or "I got nothing last night, so I'm useless". Nah, that's not gonna fly anymore.
If someone gets day one pressure and plays ball, then I'll gladly let them play. As far as I can tell, there aren't any noobs here, so it's time everyone started playing that way (not calling anyone out, just saying that everyone has potential).
Fair enough. As I said, with a Day 0 specifically designed to encourage Day 1 activity, somebody's gonna get the short straw, and I can get behind it for this particular game.
Starting question:
1. What standards would you suggest for a day 1 lynch, even if you are anti day 1 lynches?
2. What standards (other than guy reads) would you reject for a day 1 lynch?
1. A basic claim, power or character. If someone is actively here saying something, I don't want them to leave the game without a good reason. Conversely, if whomever is being pressured doesn't respond, then I'm cool with a lynch.
2. If it's just a gut vote. I need something a bit tangible to make it worth while.

I don't disagree, but being in the last 25% is by definition not day 1 lynch material. I think most of the ideas floating about are concerning Day 1 lynches only. After Night 1 I think any standards for lynch are on the table, especially concerning coasters.

1. Talk until something comes out. Throw Gfishian theories (but better) at the wall until people's reactions look bad. Demand reads all the time.
First theory: Rokk or LC is bad. Discuss!
2. None, outright. I'll evaluate your such standards as they are proposed.
I dislike this question because it tells you what not to say. That said, I don't think it is necessarily a scummy thing for GFish to say. As previously stated, GFish throws things at the wall that Jack sometimes disagrees with and this is not alignment indicative or else I haven't figured out how it is.
Lol anti Gangles.
Yay Dreamus.
[tinfoil]Who is traitor? There are story reasons for anybody to be a traitor. If I had to put money on it? Gangles is the traitor. He's actually the Rat. Real Gangles was thrown out of a building by Michael. Anti Gangles is real Gangles.[/tinfoil

I agree with above. It might also give us some insight as to whether or not our alignments change after we are lynched as well. I guess last game it did seem like a mixed bag, though.
Taking out someone's first character at random on D1 just seems like we are setting that player up to be taken out by scum early on. Or, are we setting them up to be doctored and RT'ed early on...
