Guys, the bonus mission has been posted: The Hellfire Heist!
This is a lighthearted caper mission since it seems like everyone is super busy again this week. The Rogues versus the Hellfire Club--you build the rosters! See page 1 for details.
Awww yeah! I am so excited for the Rogues to make their triumphant return to the HRS!

Totally improvised the scenario today when I realized they'd yet to make an appearance. (I love alternate universe versions of the Hellfire Club too, so I figured this might be a fun matchup.)
As much as he hated what had become of him, Hank Henshaw had to admit that it felt good sometimes. At that moment, he was one with every part of the space station that the Four occupied. Every sensor was his eyes and ears, every bulkhead was his skin. He could hear Bruce performing his breathing exercises, feel Dinah jogging around the station's outer ring, and see Reed working out complex equations related to the station's spin and gravity.
Then Hank withdrew from it all, and back into the shell that was his mobile body. It was still rudimentary, despite Reed's promises to upgrade it. Grasping claws served as his only appendages, and the head was nothing more than a couple of camera-eyes and a roughly mouth-shaped speaker through which he could force an electronic-sounding voice.
He would've wept at the state of it, if he hadn't promised himself he was done weeping. And if something else hadn't grabbed his attention...
Hank's eyes would've bugged out if they were still capable of doing so. Some kind of craft was approaching, and it was like nothing he'd ever seen before. Quickly, he got on the station's intercom to warn the others. "All hands, we have unidentified contact-"
The crackling incoming signal interrupted him. It resolved into the image of a blue-skinned man, wearing metallic black robes and carrying a massive warhammer. His expression was stern, and the two soldiers behind him, the scary-looking rifles they were carrying, and the dark lighting did not help the terrifying first impression.
"The Kree empire has arrived to lay claim to this world. You shall submit and kneel before your new overlords." The alien leader leveled his hammer at the screen. "Or be destroyed." His deep voice delivered the threat with absolute certainty.
Hank mentally blinked, stunned. "...all hands..." whispered his robotic voice.
Grappling cables slammed into the station almost as soon as the Kree leader finished his speech. It was slowly towed in as the Fantastic Four assembled on the bridge.
"What's the plan?" asked Bruce, lacking the self-confidence to put his brilliant mind to work. He feared the release of the Other Guy, every day.
"We don't have much of a choice but to fight." Dinah grimaced as she pounded her fist into her other hand. The bravery that Bruce had lost seemed to have been transferred to the Black Canary, as she had become more ready for confrontation than ever since the accident.
"But we need to know when to retreat," said Reed, still the voice of reason. "This station may be our home, but it isn't worth our lives. And someone needs to warn the people of Earth of this attack."
Hank nodded along to everyone's words, accepting his role as the forgotten one of the group. He was quiet, in the background. Reed and Dinah were the glamorous faces, and Bruce was at least hard to ignore. Hank was just the pitiable one, nowhere near as human as the rest.
He supposed it was for the best. At least he didn't cause them any pain...at least they didn't worry about him.
Hank's control of the body was still rather imperfect. He didn't even notice his grasping claw clench into a fist.

Soviet Russia launches the first manned atomic rocket into space. Piloted by Yuri Gargarin, cobalt expert Sergi Krylov, his wife and navigation expert Tania Belinsky, and engineer of the experimental engineer of the China republic Dr. Chen Lu.
Together they bypass the moon too seek out there true target.
"Professor Krylov we are approaching the storm now." Yuri told Krylov.
"Excellent, bring us as close too the cosmic phenemenon
As you can Colonel." Sergei attempted to hold back as much excitement as he could.
"Let the Americans have their moon, for if my calculations are correct Russia will be the crown jewel of the world."
"Professor I am uncertain of this expedition we still don't know how the engine will react to the unknown radbioactive energies of this cloud." Chen protested.
"Dr. Chen your corncern is valid but my husband has not steered us off wrong yet and besides we are astronauts risk is required for the betterment of all mankind." Tania spoke confidently of her husbands deeds. But her face quickly turns to shock as she looks to the screen.
"SERGEI THE CLOUD, I-IT'S MOVING TOWARDS!!!!!"
Tania called out.
But by the time she could warn them it was to late.
The crew was bombarded by waves of cosmic rays as they cringed and screamed from the pain of the energy.
Their bodies contorted and changed as they continued to struggle. Colonel Yuri used all his willpower to veer the ship out of the storm. But as he steered the ship the experimental engine exploded jettisoning the ship violently of the cloud as it spun towards Earth.
"MAYDAY TO CONTROL, THIS IS COL. YURI GARGARIN OF THE STALINGARD!!"
"WE ARE APPROACHING UNCONTROLLABLY TOWARDS THE ENERGY PLANT CHERNOBLY!!"
"EVACUATE IMMEDIATLY, EVCA-" The cries of panic soon ended as the ship crashed into The Chernobyl plant. The impact created a lethal cascade of radioactive mist swallowing the town Pripyat. It was known as the Chernobyl incident.
But unbeknownst to the populace save the government, the four pilots that caused the accident were forever changed by the experience.

The dynamic duo Scarlet Witch and Vision, Mysterio
Wow, points for going with four really unexpected choices. I can't remember the last time I saw someone play Abyss or Presence. Can't wait to hear how that match plays out.
MAP: The Collector's Ship
--------------------------------------------------
WINNER: Fantastic Four
SURVIVORS: Man-Thing, Jenny Sparks, Mr. Freeze, Jennifer Kale
MVP: Man-Thing
NOTABLE OCCURRENCE: The Skrulls (with their inability to reliably do more than two damage) never stood a chance. They were able to get a couple points of damage onto Man-Thing, but that only accelerated their destruction. Shout-out to Jenny Sparks who was able to hit three targets for two damage thanks to her special attack power.

WINNER: The Rogues
SURVIVORS: Captain Cold, Sarah Rainmaker (w/ Crimson Gem of Cyttorak), Mysterio (w/ Terrigen Crystals), Batroc (w/ Millenium Eye)
MVP: Batroc
NOTABLE OCCURRENCE: The Rogues team was built more for the characters than any specific synergy but they jelled as a heist team immensely. Between Captain Cold laying down Plasticity ice blocks and Terra's two free blocking squares, the map control on this team was insane. It also meant that the Rogues were easily able to obtain the targets of their heist.

I friggin' love you guys. Every week is just great, unexpected character choice after great, unexpected character choice. Ozymandias as the White King? That's inspired.
Not sure I'll have time to play the bonus mission, so here are the teams, at least.

I made the Rogues a band of mutants (and maybe-sorta-mutants like Felicia), presumably led by Rogue, and merged the Hellfire Club with the League of Assassins. Some notable things I'd include if I made a write-up include:
The Black Queen and her Executioner teleported into the room. "Dracula sends his best, but unfortunately he won't be joining us tonight as he's busy with personal matters in Transylvania. Something about robots and wizards."
One of the Rogues: "Do we have to call in Hardy? Like, are we even sure she's a mutant?"
I was gonna put the Hellfire Club in Gotham, maybe add something about Talia asking Ra's to invite Bruce Wayne. I also wanted something about Tim Drake and Bobby Drake being cousins or something.
Finally, the haul they got (or didn't get, but allowed to escape into the world) is the hammers of The Worthy. Maybe have Terra possessed by Kuurth, Black Cat by Skirn, Iceman by Nerkkod, etc.
I'm hoping to get some of this done shortly, but I've been pretty sick, and we've been hosting an evacuee from Wilmington. But I think I've settled on my Fantastic Four - realizing that I don't want to go too far off course with them, so I'll use three of the canonical 4, but then Johnny Storm will instead be Johnny Blaze. Or maybe he'll still be Johnny Storm, Ghost Rider. Cosmic rays perhaps have a metaphysical element somehow...

I had this idea where Captain Cold and Heatwave are training these wannabe thieves with trial by fire. I have a story idea but I don't know if I'll be able to post in time before the next update.

I had some time to run through Rogues vs. Hellfire Club. Notable occurrences include:
Black Cat going from full health to KO'd due to Blades/Claws/Fangs from Ra's al Ghul, so I'm assuming she's very dead unless there are some hammer shenanigans. Maybe Black Lantern shenanigans?
Iceman failing to pick up basically any of the hammers. He's incredibly unworthy, apparently.
Dazzler surprisingly holding her own against Executioner Bane.
Terra using the Lazarus Pit.
The Hellfire Club ended up KOing all the Rogues, but the hammers still could've escaped.
