I don't think modifying a cookie cutter is the best example of strategy.It is getting better, but at the current time its all about cookie cutter beatdowns. You see the same cards all the time.

Duel Masters is similar in some ways in that there are cards we see all the time, but you can actually play other deck types and win.

While I agree that judging the game by the show or its legions of newbie players is silly, calling Yu-Gi-Oh a more strategic game to its greater number of cards is silly. Yu-Gi-Oh! sets the record for greatest amount of trash cards on the planet.

I don't mean to put down Yu-Gi-Oh, I like the game, I own and play both the JP and English version. But the game is limited to primarily chaos cookie cutter, or burn and the metagame hasn't changed in over a year for the most part. Saying Yugioh is more strategic is like saying Magic is more strategic, it means nothing unless you explain what you mean. It doesn't even matter that the games are strategic in the first place as long as they are fun. Debating the issue is silly and pointless.

The problem with DM lies with people like you Psywumper who must insist on coming on a Duel Masters forum and call a different game superior. This is not the place for that. Games are for fun. All four of these games are fun, and we can leave it at that. Ignore DMGuy's comments, those who do not understand the allure of YGO are best left to their own devices.

The main point is fun factor. VS is the fairest, most strategic game around I would say. Much more than Duel Masters, Magic, and YGO combined. Is it fun? Not to me, it's too complex and I don't find marvel superheroes such as spiderman that entertaining. I like the animated series/movies but its not something I want to play as a card game.

It's like proclaiming FFX to be better FF7 because its graphics or better or because its "storyline" is better. It's a pointless argument that you can't win because they are mere opinion. Just acknowledge both games rock. I do not like VS, but I do acknowledge it for being a great game. Everyone needs to do the same for the other games. Games are for fun, not for arguments. Now everyone go and take a couple hours and read my set 14 spoiler! Go now!

So true guys, so true. I'm just comming back into the game and thanx 2 dmrealms, I fully understand the opinions of other duelest. I have never played mtg ang my $20 a month(lol) allowance doesn't really allow it. DM is cheap, fun and highly addictable and sorry to say it, if duelmasters was to stay strong over the next five years(i no it will) then it is a possiblity that it can overtake mtg for #1. Even just for a little bit.
